Preston it is. You have no idea how hard I wanted to us the clue:

I thought those would be too telling….

If nobody wants you to play for them because you suck, does that mean you’re retired? If so, that means I’ve been retired from football for 4 years now too.

Got 1, 2, and 3 – have to wait and see about #4. That’s a hard one. “I have coached” sounds like he’s a current coach, but “I did not play for the team I coached” sounds like he’s not current. Plus, not sure if that means head coach, probably not. Great questions as always.

Sounds like Frank Reich… I did not realize he was coaching that long. Didn’t he also have a short career broadcasting games as well?

I thought is was Sape too, but wasnt he born in American Samoa, not hawaii? That really threw me off.
