Several teams, including the Seattle Seahawks, have made exploratory phone calls about free-agent wide receiver Terrell Owens, a source with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday.

I would see the money as the only reason why he has no job as of yet. He may not be as good as he was once, but he definetly has something left in his tank. Moreover I didn’t have the impression, that he did anything wrong in terms of team chemistry this last season here in Blo. I would say that he matured significantly in that department.

It amazes me
How this cancer of a person still gets respect. Did he blow his mouth off last year no BUT…
He rarely readjusts for poorly thrown passes, choosing instead to blame his QB
He never attempts to become the defender when a pass is intercepted, instead running away from the action
He requires a lot of passes thrown his way because he drops a lot of them and if they aren’t perfect he won’t lay out for them.
He is lousy at grabbing passes over the middle in heavy traffic, he’s got no heart at all.
He is and has always been one of the worse blocking WRs in the running game – no heart at all!
He is a phenom athlete that works hard at looking like a phenom athlete. People think that he had a great work ethic but I believe that it was much more about him looking better than actually trying to improve the overall production of the offense.
I am ecstatic that his gone and I am not surprised that nobody wants him.

144 career receiving TDs. Nearly 15.000 career receiving yards. I think that’s why he gets respect.

Those numbers seem to imply he doesn’t always do the things keysh67 laid out. Preposterous!

Unfortunately, yes. I just don’t think you can discount his ability based on his imperfections. He was far and away the team’s best WR last year, and it wasn’t even close. And this was in spite of all his deficiencies.

I do not agree.
Furthermore, giving a player on the way out all the playing time crippled the development of younger players just waiting for their chance. When I see a receiver not fight for a poorly thrown ball when he easily could have, I see a big floppin looser! When I see the ball get intercepted and the receiver walk away instead of getting after him and tackling the guy, I see a big floppin looser! When I see a run play called and I watch the receiver just pet the defender as the defender blows by him and nails our running back, I see a big floppin looser!
I hate TO, always have and always will. His skils are so diminished that the only way he could have 90 receptions in one season would be to target him over 200 times! He is washed up!

What you said when he was signed:
I hate the person not the player. I must admit that I was blown away last night when I got in, WOW – I didn’t see this one coming. But after reflecting on it for a while, I came to the conclusion that it will be a good thing. The key here is that it is only a 1 year contract..
1) Nobody can deny that TO is a playmaker and Evans should have a monster year as a result of this signing
2) TO normally keeps fairly quiet the first year, so there is very little risk to the fabric of our team
3) TO will definitely bring relevancy to our team. Signing him prior to the official schedule is great, we might actually get a few more prime time games
4) It’s a great plan "B" should Marshawn be out for more than 2 games
5) Before the signing only Jauron was on a hot seat and now Edwards is on it too. He now has no excuses, he will need to deliver or the project might be over.
I just hope that after the 1 year, that Johnson & Hardy develop enough to be able to walk away from TO and let him leave town. Let’s take it for what it is, temporary relief nothing more and nothing less. Let’s no let this guy try to convince us otherwise. He’s been a good soldier the first year everywhere that he’s been and then the poison comes out, let’s not get sucked in.

If he’s washed up, then what has Lee Evans become?

I love it when people rant for no reason. He’s gone. What’s the point of getting all fired up?

Only because
he seems to have ripped us (fans) off for $6 mil. You are right, it is in the past, but he did not earn any of it . Just sayin….
Haha – yeah, I don’t feel like TO ripped me off.

He didn’t beg for that 6 million. It was paid quite willingly. Could you imagine how unentertaining that team would have been last season if he wasn’t a part of things?

Man,
meaning I think keysh67 evaluation of TO’s 09 performance is right on. He plays with no hustle or heart. He plays not to get hurt. IMHO.
agreed
He gave-up on plays at times, not good.

Well...
Jerry Rice went out to NFL pasture in Seattle. It makes perfect sense!
