2 things within the first two minutes that makes you realise that they don't put any effort into this.

1. They count Brandan Marshall as part of Miami’s draft efforts.
2. They say that Ducass will have a hard time moving from LT to LG simply because he was an LT in college (hey obviously never heard of Andy Levitre).

Their assessment of Buffalo is pretty bang on, but my grandmother could have done that.

The more I see, the less I know.

Well isn't that how Marshall was acquired?
1. They count Brandan Marshall as part of Miami’s draft efforts.

They traded their 2nd rounder for him. That’s part of their draft equation….

Agreed, part of the draft equation. But shouldn’t actually be part of the draft grade because they didn’t draft him this year.

I mean is Leon Washington taken into consideration for Seatle’s draft grade? I don’t think so.

The more I see, the less I know.

by CanadianBillsFan on May 6, 2010 2:00 AM EDT up reply actions

Sure, why not?
He was acquired using draft picks. He’s a lower impact to the team, so may not impact the grade as heavily, but the only difference between him and a 5th and 7th round college player is that you know what you’re getting with Washington.

I guess that I just don’t see trades for players as being parts of your draft.

The more I see, the less I know.

Dwan Edwards and Andre Davis

aren’t significant additions. Or is it because we didn’t trade to get the? They could be right, who knows, that’s why we play the games. Besides, this year is all about the coaching change, that’s what the billboard wanted.

No it’s just because they entirely forgot about them. Remember, this is Buffalo, ESPN doesn’t give a rat’s ass about us unless TO is playing for us. And even then, they only cared about TO, not the Bills.

The more I see, the less I know.

It was

Splash vs Substance

Buffalo made all of the right moves for Buffalo. That is why they didn’t make any big moves. The Bills did just what any small market team should be doing. It’s just that doing the right things for the team isn’t sexy enough for the NFL Network / ESPN. NFL Network doesn’t see what the Bills plan is because Buffalo didn’t buy / trade and overpay for big name free agents / draft picks. I am much more comfortable and see a good outlook for the Bills going forward based on what they have done this offseason, than if they went out and spent big bucks like the Redskins have done for years. Where has that gotten them?

Sure, the Bills very well could go 4-12 this year. I don’t really see that as a problem as long as Nix / Chan stick to their plan (As opposed to Jauron’s yearly “PLANS”), we’ll get better going forward. I like that Nix doesn’t give much away, that’s just how Belichick / Parcells play the game. Also, I don’t see the Jets making a step forward this year, no matter how many NAMES they fill their roster with. They will be tough, and they will beat the Bills, but I don’t see them as Super Bowl bound. I think the Colts and Saints could very well make it all the way again. I really like how the Saints are built, as far as filling a roster they are a good model to follow. Production over fame.

This is just

more of the same crap “analysis” from crap “analysts.” They gave us a C because we didn’t draft a QB basically.

you have to give them a little credit though...

they devoted time to the Bills and ignored the Pats. That earns them a couple of points in my book

How can they not see the plan? I mean it is pretty obvious to anybody who has even a shred of intellect. This team was brutal vs the run last year. 30th in the league, they gave up 2,501 yards at a 157 yard/per game clip. They signed a 3-4 ILB and a 3-4 DE. They also drafted a 3-4 run-stuffing NT and another 3-4 DE, with two of their top 3 picks. Is it not obvious that the Bills are trying to shore up the defense? Or is the problem that the Bills didn’t follow what Marshall Faulk and Mike Lombardi thought they should do?

No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.

Well, I’m sure Lombardi and faulck could have found a QB, LT, playmaker, AND improved the defense, all without mortgaging the teams future. Those guys work for NFL network, duh. (I actually like Lombardi most of the time. faulck, however, always gives me the gag reflex.)

Why do these guys go for the most cliche, surface opinions? I wish they could find better angles. Sometimes it seems like thy don’t try to be at all interesting.

I would like to point out (though not happily)

that Faulk has been much closer to predicting the Bills record than the VAST majority of Rumblers. And, Mike Lombardi has actually, you know, been employed as an NFL executive before. Of course they see “the plan”….they just don’t think it is a very good one. I tend to agree.

Well we all knew that this was going to be a long term rebuild. Say maybe they (and a lot of us here) don’t like the year 1 phase of the plan. Sure we still have BIG holes at QB and LT, but we actually have a good defense. It might even be a great deffense if Maybin can turn into a good pass rusher.

Nix might not have fixed our offense (thinking that’s year two of the plan), but he has done a heck of a job fixing our D. I’m actually looking forward to seeing our D play this year.

The more I see, the less I know.

by CanadianBillsFan on May 7, 2010 1:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Well if they see the plan why would they say that they don’t see it? Wouldn’t they say that they see the plan but don’t think they agree with it? The way they put it makes them sound like tools.

It is a figure of speech.

“What is the plan in Buffalo” ….. translation….WTF are they doing up there??

What’s wrong with beefing up the D line? That has been a huge weakness for years, and now we are putting some bigger bodies along it. If that was the best way that they could get the value in the draft, at an area we still need in, then so be it.

It is Brohm’s Bills jersey that is the least stained with doo-doo... GO BILLS

Really

Who cares what “experts” say? I for one could care less. From a fans viewpoint we had alot of needs and we filled some. What’s wrong with that? You know what they say about opinions.
