3 Way Trade: Buffalo/Seattle/Baltimore - My proposal

I was doing a little thinking with the Seattle / Lynch trade talk getting a little more steam, at least in the media.

The Bills want at least a 3rd for Lynch.  Seattle doesn't have a 3rd next year, and a 2 is too much and a 4 is too little.  But if the Bills throw in a pick you could get it so it works.

Going to the Draft Value Chart, if the value for Lynch is a 3rd and the Bills include their 3rd round pick you're looking at a total value of mid-to-high 400s (assume Lynch for the 10th pick of the 3rd and the Bills picking 10th you get to 440 points).  The 8th pick in the 2nd is 500 points and drops to 420 for the 16th pick so they're similar (although somewhat dependent on how you're expecting each team to do).

So if that were to happen the Bills would be getting the equivalent of a 3rd rounder for Lynch.  From Seattle's side, they get a player that they like by just moving down a round in the draft.  They'll still have the same number of picks in next year's draft and have a player they like.

From there, the Bills would have 2 second round picks and could flip one of them to Baltimore for Jared Gaither.  Essentially they'd be giving up a 3rd rounder and a player that doesn't want to be around (and currently 3rd stringer) for a starting LT.

I think the biggest stumbling block to something like this happening is probably the Seahawks valuing Lynch as a mid-to-high 3rd round pick, but I think getting them back to having the same number of picks would get them to be more receptive to it.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I think Buffalo & Seattle would have to be the first step. And it’s one that could be done with or without the Baltimore component to it.

This would definitely, satisfy the rumblings in the stands.

Good research, I would like to hear Dwan Edwards opinion on this, after the June Mandatory camps and a health update on Demetrius Bell. Right know we are working on strengthening depth at LT with Merideth getting 1st team reps, Bell strengthening his condition for training camp and Wang doing what rookies do. Not a bad scenario, just not sure it fits with Gaitner’s demotion to RT. Definitely would satisfy the fan base though.

Dont like the trade but i like the idea...

to change you idea up just a bit i would offer a 3 way trade with Seattle and New Orleans…

with Seattle receiving Lynch

Buffalo receiving New Orleans 6th rd, Seattle’s 6th rd and LT Jammal Brown

New Orleans receiving Seattle’s 4th rd and DE Aaron Schobel

gives us two 6th rd picks and a starting LT. Schobel gets to play for a system he knows and a winning team, i hate to say it but i think he deserves that. Seattle obviously gets Lynch and everyone (excluding possibly Brown) is happy.

I still remember flying paper airplanes at One Bills Drive during a game against the Redskins during the strike year... my first Bills game.

I own a Rob Johnson signed jersey, so with that in mind if i like the Bills QB just expect him to fall on a football and break his ribs.

Love the idea

Only if we could be GM for a day….that would be a great campaign for Buffalo to make some money (Be a Bills GM for a day)….it would be a better money campaign than bringin in T.O. like last year

Or we could do this

Start Meredith at LT. My creativity knows no bounds today.

The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. Lastly, her wonderlic score was pretty awful, answering "meow meow meow" for most of the questions- Dr. Brackish Okun

Hey I've been meaning to ask you mob16151...

Do you blog over on Viva El Birdos for the STL Cardinals? I know there’s someone on there with a very similar screen name. I wasn’t sure if you were in the STL metro area or something.

Yea

Thats me also on the STL blog. I became a Cardinals fan due to Mark McGwire. I’m from Northwestern PA originally. I reside in North Carolina now though.

Cool. Hopefully Boog and Holliday finally start listening to him and hitting more.

Oh, and I heart Colby Rasmus and Ryan Ludwick, and I think that Pujols guy might just amount to something after all.

Ah, I love trade scenarios!

If I were CHIX I’d take your deal….but I don’t know that the Seahawks are going to give up their 2nd rounder even if they get Buffalo’s 3rd in the exchange.

It can always get worse. Let me tell you how.
