Obviously disgruntled
He can be our #1 this year, i hope he begins to feel more love from Buffalo
"Hold ya chin up...nuh nuh nuh...gone" -Marshawn Lynch-
Seriously? He comes into the facility on his own terms and states that he missed practice because he was enjoying his offseason? After being suspended for a quarter of the season last year and a new regime in place. And that’s not ignorant?
If he manned up and said, “you know, I’ve been feeling like I needed a change of scene and I’m only here because I’m not going to get what I want….” then I’d back off because at least he’s acting like a man. This was just arrogant BS.

"you know, I’ve been feeling like I needed a change of scene and I’m only here because I’m not going to get what I want…."
I think if he said something like that it would have sounded more ignorant. I thought he presser was pretty good considering he hasnt spoke in Buffalo in months. Hes back, for now. Its all voluntary he said he was enjoying his time off… how is that ignorant. Teachers take the summer off, they arent in the class rooms everyday working on next years curriculum. Now I understand its a little different situation… but still applies. Hes here… now we’re going to critic his press conference? Come on…

It would have been more arrogant, but at least he would have addressed the situation honestly. And that’s the truth… the only reason he is here is because a trade wasn’t consumated and he didn’t get what he wanted. You know it, I know it, ML knows it and Nix and Gailey know it.
Sorry, but that doesn’t sit well with me because I don’t think you can win with players like that. The season is tough, you veteran players to lead by example.
And it’s not like we’re talking about a player who has done it right and is just unhappy with his contract or something. This is a chronic screw up who is now holding out on the team that has supported him and is blaming the fans, the media, everyone but himself for being in a uncomfortable situation.
now we’re going to critic his press conference? Come on…
Why is it wrong to critique his press conference? It was an opportunity to be straight and explain himself and all he did was confirm that he’s a selfish dude who doesn’t get it. Fair game.
Thou isth now selling thy KoolAid...
Did you really expect him, or any player, to come out and say exactly where hes been? He doesnt have to. Its voluntary… he owes us nothing as far as where hes been during OTA’s. Sure he dug himself into a hole by saying “Ill be there” two weeks ago and then never showed… But he still doesnt owe us an explanation. He said he was at home… theres your answer. You want him to say what he did on a day to day, hour to hour basis too? I mean at some point we have to just let him be for a day. Im not trying to be ‘Marshawns boy’ or anything like that right now. But come on… its June, 6-7 weeks from TC. Thats when it will count. If he doesnt show then we have a problem. But hes here now. Lets just go with that. One foot at a time…

I don’t care what ML does with his time. He should have more respect for the fans, the city and the team and league that employs him. He’s not a pro. Simple as that.
Thou isth now selling thy KoolAid...
Forget the fans, and media. he owes and explanation to the rest of his teammates that have been busting their humps to make the team better while he has been MIA.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
And that should be something done behind closed doors, in the locker room. All of his teammates were glad to see him, hell even Mitchell kissed him. Hes part of this team, hes a Buffalo Bill. Hes not a season ticket holder in section 135. Hes a Buffalo Bill, and if the other 52 Buffalo Bills are happy hes back and are ok with him… So am I. As much as I hate to say it because I wish they were all fan-friendly and arms wide open with us… some just arent.

I’m not suggesting you burn his jersey. How you express your loyalty to the Bills is your business.
I’m sure his fellow teamates are happy he’s back. He’s “one of them.” That doesn’t mean his presence makes the team better, and as a fan that’s what I care about. That’s how I express my loyalty to the team… I don’t think you have to love every player that wears the uniform to love the team.
Thou isth now selling thy KoolAid...
No you dont have to love every player that wears a Bills jersey. But hes currently a Bill, one that I think will help us out this year, so I guess thats why Im backing him. That and I’d like to see him turn it around.

Yes, in a heart beat. I was one that wouldnt have minded us giving up our #9 overall for Roth. If he were a Bill during all his legal trouble… I would want him back, and hope that he can overcome the off-field issues to come back and be a force for our team again.

The guy messed up
and when the new regime comes in the take a first round RB 3 years after we just did with him. How his that gunna motivate the guy for the positive? He earned the starting spot in both of his first two seasons. He got in trouble and had a bad season paired with the suspension. I believe he should have been told that he was the #1 RB going into camp and let him lose it if that was the case. I like Spiller but how can you expect a guy trying to make a name for himself to be happy about it, especially when we have a lot of other obvious holes. Lynch as the number one and Spiller as a speedy change up and passing threat is a very good combo.
The interview was fine because i did not expect much. He is young and lacks maturity, so does a majority of young talent in the NFL. He will hopefully grow as a player and an individual and stay here and be productive for a long time.
Being negative toward him fixes nothing and just makes the situation worse. He obviously feels that he is not welcome in Buffalo and if i saw him i would have a few kind words of encouragement for him. He is a Bill and i like him. Go Buffalo

Well, we’ll see how it works out.
Can I make a prediction? The next carry he has in a regular season game in Buffalo will be as a visitor… and then the fans will let him know how they feel about him.
Thou isth now selling thy KoolAid...
I dont think hes in McGahee status yet… maybe to some. But I dont think everyone in Buffalo hates him lol.

He is young and lacks maturity
Unfortunately, actual maturity doesn’t necessarily come with age. I know 12-year-olds who are more mature than Lynch is.
He will hopefully grow as a player and an individual and stay here and be productive for a long time.
Unfortunately, hope is not a strategy, but I think Nix and Gailey know this.

Everything else he had (down). He came in yesterday and talked to coach Modkins. Obviously he studied it last night and he came out there and was ready to go. That’s always a positive any time you can hit the ground running like that it’s going to be good for you. – Fred Jackson
i think thats great. he was actually talking to the o-coord and studying last night. has already picked up a bunch of stuff, and is contributing. i wouldnt go as far as saying hes “ignorant” or anything like that.

He’s ignorant for the “enjoying my offseason” comment. There are 70+ others working their butts off trying to learn a new system.
Thou isth now selling thy KoolAid...
i get how that could rub you the wrong way
but it was probably the most diplomatic way to answer that question. the other ways he either throws himself under the bus or the organization. id rather they keep the bickering internal and not publish it to the media, so i think what he said was good. but i get how that could upset some people, but try to look at it as him trying to reconcile everything and doing it in the most diplomatic way possible.

last season
I would have agreed with you. But now I really just think he doesn’t get it.
He’s made it plain that he wanted out and he didn’t get it so he’s dragging his feet to return to the team. That’s the reality.
Again, from a guy who did it the right way, I would be sympathetic. But for a chronic screw-up who has been supported by the Bills and Bills fans throughtout??? Ughgh… Sorry.
I admit, emotion response. He pissed me off with that interview. He doesn’t give a damn about the fans or the team.
Thou isth now selling thy KoolAid...
what he says to the media cannot be takin as a truth
he is not going to say how he feels to them, they have had a lot of negative words about him and all they do is talk about him. This is seen in what Jackson said. He trusts his friends and teammates, not the media. Let his play do the talking not his words to the media.
"Hold ya chin up...nuh nuh nuh...gone" -Marshawn Lynch-
reporters..
i dont think he is very fond of them
That was an uncomfortable interview, but we all expected it to be. I have to give the guy credit for trying to answer the questions honestly. The Fred Jackson interview they posted at BB.com just after they posted this one is a good compliment to this one.
It sure seem like his teammates are happy to see him!

Ugh.
The non-verbal communication here is pretty clear. Read between the “side-to-side head swinging” that " I played hardball with Coach Gailey and expected hik to fold like a DJ Tent— that didn’t happen." This, coupled with the fact that he seems to only have merited only a 4th-rounder in potential trade deals may have brought him back down to earth. He isn’t nearly as valuable as he thinks he is.
I sincerely hope that he doesn’t act out like a d-bag, but rather uses is a fuel for a spectacular season that sends his stock spiraling upward (and shuts up his critics).

Lynch is a stooge.
We passed on Revis for this guy?
Buddy will not trade him for the right reasons...Lynch isn't going anywhere.
He finally realized that and showed up. I’m glad our organization has grown a pair and didn’t blink.
On another note: How come Freddy and C.J. are the first RBs since Thurman that don’t interview and sound like illiterate dummies?

I agree as well with Joe’s take on interview. It’s kinda a “no brainer” as to ML’s attitude. We’ve got plenty of RB’s, lets cut bait with ML and move on. I’d like to think ML has some trade value but he’s his own worse enemy. Everytime he opens his mouth the less I want to hear him. Not real impressed, but we drafted him. Time to go, anybody for a 5th rounder?

This is what I got out of the interview. He sounds like a guy who wants to leave the team behind. I loved his quote (paraphrasing) “you know…running past people.” Remind me again…when the hell was that?
I think some of his approach was due to his feelings about the media.

He's a millionaire man-child.
Seriously, why does everyone keep expecting more from ML at this point in his life than what they already can see?
It’s obvious he not yet capable of meeting these demands. He’s is desperate need of guidance from somebody who can help him see the world doesn’t revolve around him. He will learn this in time. Let him play football, grow up a bit, acquire a little bit of wisdom, and then we all can judge him.
Evolution is a great thing.
Go big or go home.
He will learn this in time.
Not necessarily. I don’t have high hopes that he will.
