We have noone of note behind Williams and Troup; why not bring him in?

right, like I said, noone of note.

Harvey is of note, however, because unlike Scott, he’s a different prospect than Williams and Troup.
I don’t like Scott as a 3-4 nose at all, and thought it was insane of SD to roll with him to begin with. He’d be a very mediocre signing for Buffalo.

Im not even aware of who scott is. So Im not saying we should bring him in. My question is why do the bills want “different prospects?” This is an earnest question. Does the value of having a massive NT (I think harvey is much bigger than the other two if I remember correctly) outwiegh having a replacement in case of injury. Its hard to word this question. Ill try again, I assume the idea is that Harvey would be able to bring a new look to different packages or situations, because hes a bigger nose tackle. But does this outweigh the value of having a more prototypical sized NT is case on injury?
Also, no point in having “different prospects” if they can’t play. All I know about Scott is that he started a bunch of games for the Chargers, who are pretty good. Lonnie Harvey is a complete, undrafted, unknown. If he can play, I’m all for a big man, just don’t know anything about him. I’m sure if Nix is familiar enough with Scott to make a good decision here.
