Buffalo Bills rookie offensive tackle Ed Wang suffered what might be a significant injury to his left leg during the team's minicamp practice Saturday morning. Allen Wilson of the Buffalo News reports
PFT, citing a league source, is reporting that it's a high ankle sprain and Wang will be done with offseason activities though should be available for training camp.

You beat me. I just liked what Wilson wrote more than Chris Brown so I kept mine. Not on you at all.

If this is a torn ACL or leg break, our LT situation becomes even more dicey even though Wang was generally seen as a 2nd unit guy.
Yeah I thought about it but went “classy”.

Reports are coming in that it’s a high ankle sprain, which while it takes a long time to recover from, is not the type of injury that causes any permanent damage. We should have him back at 100% by mid training camp.

That is a good thing on the one hand, but bad on the other, we really needed him in voluntary practices to learn

Wait… I though italics was the sarcasm font and all caps was the angry font. I’m so confused.

All caps can be angry and sarcastic all at the same time.
But because I used italics, YOU’RE GONNA THINK I WAS BEING SARCASTIC.

Ankle sprains are tough to prevent Brian, I can tell you that from working in Sports Med while in college
Unless he was wearing ankle braces or had them wrapped, there was no way to stop the injury, especially if someone rolled up onto him, or heck, he stuck his foot in a gopher hole, some things Brian just cannot be prevented.
Besides, this sounds more like a freak injury than anything else, at least guys are working out.

And you smell like it, ohhhhh FACE!
sorry, sorry, hung out way to much this past weekend with this one dude who did that all the time at my college reunion. But, I am wondering what this means as far as his chances for the 3rd spot behind Bell and Meredith.

Per PFT and a league source
It’s a high ankle sprain; Will be out rest of offseason programs, will be back for Training Camp.

Looks like it's a high ankle sprain...
…not good. but also not the worst case scenario when the cart comes out.
High ankle sprain is the early diagnosis for Ed Wang
Posted by Mike Florio on June 5, 2010 1:41 PM ET
Bills rookie offensive lineman Ed Wang suffered earlier today what was described as a potentially significant leg injury.
Per a league source, it’s apparently not serious.
We’re told that the early diagnosis is a high ankle sprain, but that MRI results likely won’t be fully reviewed and interpreted until Sunday.
At a minimum, he’s expected to miss the rest of the offseason program, but he apparently could be healthy for the start of training camp.
A high ankle sprain is actually one of the more “favorable” injuries to have, so to speak. It leaves no permanent damage. We got lucky if thats all he has.

And Buffalo’s run of bad luck with injuries continues unabated. If recent history is any guide we can anticipate the Bills needing Wang to play LT sometime around week 9. Losing practice reps isn’t going to help.
It can always get worse. Let me tell you how.
A high ankle sprain isn't all that bad.
Yes it takes a long time to recover from it, but it shouldn’t leave any permanent damage. I’m actually happy that it’s a high ankle sprain, it means that he can recover 100% by mid-training camp and we should have him back for the season.

I find it hard to be happy about any injury. Yes, it could have been far worse (Wood’s broken leg) but Buffalo will have to rely on Wang (and other rookies) and missing reps in practice hurts.
It can always get worse. Let me tell you how.
Here is the thing Ron, we don't know if this was a preventable or freak style injury
As I noted to Brian, if this was a case of just preventable injury, then please go nuts (e.g. doing drills without braces or tape wrapped around the ankles for instance) or freak like walking down the stairs and missing one, or running into a gopher hole. I reserve judgement on the injury aspect till I learn more.
As far as the missed practice time? OH CRAP is all I have to say there.
