Tuesday Morning Bills Trivia - 7/27

Love it or hate it, Rumblers, there are only two more TMBT posts left before the season starts. If you haven't gotten any right yet, you are running out of opportunities to do so. As always, I am also up to any suggestions. In this case, I am looking for good themes and/or ways that we could do the season finale. Let me know what you want to see.

Mystery Bill 1
- I spent five years with the Bills
- I was the head football coach of a Division II college
- I am currently an assistant for the New York Sentinels of the UFL
- I coached in NFL Europa for teams like the Berlin Thunder and Amsterdam Admirals

Mystery Bill 2
- During one of my years with the Bills I led the team in receiving
- I played for four NFL teams
- I made three Pro Bowls and won one Super Bowl during my playing days
- I attended SFA

Mystery Bill 3
- I played in Super Bowls XXVII and XXVIII
- I attended SMU
- I wore jersey numbers 62, 70, and 71 during my playing days
- I am currently a college football color analyst for Versus Network

Mystery Bill 4
- Despite being from Dayton, OH, I attended the University of Tennessee
- I played for three NFL teams - one of them twice
- I was the Co-MVP of the SEC Championship game my senior year
- I was twice named Academic All-SEC

Is mystery Bill number 2

James Lofton?

The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. Lastly, her wonderlic score was pretty awful, answering "meow meow meow" for most of the questions- Dr. Brackish Okun

I don’t think he won a Super Bowl w/ anyone…..Raiders, Packers, Bills….who was that fourth team for him? Unless that fourth team won a SB when he was there, I don’t think the Raiders or Packers did during his time……

I wanna google it

Can’t. Now I’m sad. lol

And I'm guessing mystery Bill number 4 is Peerless Price.

  1. - Derrick Burroughs?
Don’t remember hearing about him in the UFL, but…….

by bluecollarbuffalo on Jul 27, 2010 8:20 AM EDT reply actions

I’m not sure about # 4……but the more I think about it, I’m wondering if he was a Cowboy instead of a Bill for those Super Bowls…I just can’t seem to remember offensive lineman from SMU……

by bluecollarbuffalo on Jul 27, 2010 8:25 AM EDT reply actions

I also didn’t know Versus showed college football, so that clue doesn’t help at all unless I cheat!

by bluecollarbuffalo on Jul 27, 2010 8:26 AM EDT up reply actions

Alright, I’m just going to say it….my first instinct on 2 is Larry Centers just b/c I think a WR is too obvious…..but I have no idea who he played for that won a SB. Where did he go after the Bills? I really don’t remember him on another team…..

by bluecollarbuffalo on Jul 27, 2010 8:31 AM EDT reply actions

He was with Arizona and washingtonI think.

So thats the only 3 teams I remember him with. And I’m not 100 percent on Washington.

Those were both before the Bills….but it looks like freddyjj answered my question below…..if that is indeed correct.

Or were Redskins right after in the Snyder spending purge?

by bluecollarbuffalo on Jul 27, 2010 8:37 AM EDT up reply actions

Apparently Washington was before buffalo.

Number 3

is hard. I got it but will leave it out there.

Obscure Bill player with ridiculously long career in NFL!

by freddyjj on Jul 27, 2010 8:47 AM EDT reply actions

Got number one and three by illegal means, so I will keep the answers to myself. Got Centers and Price with no help though which is pretty good. I usually don’t get a chance to check out the trivia until everyone has already gotten them all so it’s weird to be on so early…

by BuffaloRepresent on Jul 27, 2010 10:12 AM EDT up reply actions

1 – Derrick Burroughs
2 – Larry Centers
3 – I doubt anybody will get without cheating
4 – Peerless Price

I love the participation this week fellas but does anybody have any themes or other ideas they want to see for the last one of the year?

I've sent you an email sireric

Haha, I love the wording of #4 – “Despite being from Dayton, OH, I attended the University of Tennessee,” like it’s against nature and all that’s good to go to UT from Dayton, OH! ;-)

Well if you are from Ohio and don’t go to Ohio St, that is just odd….

Sir Eric. May I submit

An all decade finish for the last one

A player each from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and an extra credit from the Naughts

Makes it easier for us old guys!
