La Canfora: Signs Pointing Toward Schobel Return
All signs continue to point toward Aaron Schobel's return to the Buffalo Bills, reports NFL.com's Jason La Canfora. The veteran pass rusher is reportedly looking for a home to rent in the Buffalo area. Here are La Canfora's tweets in full:
All signs continue to point to Aaron Schobel playing for Bills in 2010. Hearing he's making calls to secure home to rent in Buffalo. He's expected to make a final decision in next few weeks. Should have a full story on NFL.com shortly. Bills could definitely use him.
Schobel told WKBW earlier this week that he was considering a return. He'd slide into the weak-side OLB role currently being held down by a combination of Reggie Torbor and Aaron Maybin; La Canfora is right - the Bills could definitely use Schobel.

IF the means before the 2nd pre-season game then I can accept it. Really… he should be here yesterday… but if this thing drags passed Aug 19th then I would tell him “No go.”

Lets Go Buffalo!!
If he were not making a position switch, i’d be much more willing to wait 2 weeks for him. He’s no Brett Favre, however.

hes not playing quaterback, his job is to rush the quaterback!!! hes been doing that for quite some time now, so i have no problem with him showing up late. Just show up cause this team needs him. hes the best passrusher we have period.
What does this do for Maybin since he was slotted for that spot,he’s a first rounder so when will he be a starter.I agree we need Schobel pass rushing skills, can Maybin play the strong side?

Maybin would be a rotational reserve.

Perhaps, although he had been the first-string weakside OLB when OTA’s started and toward the end of the OTA’s Torbor took his place and is the first-string guy now, with Maybin getting occasional snaps (but mainly practicing with the second-string). It’s way too early to call him a bust, but he sure seems to be a slow learner.
Torbor took his place pretty much when he signed. I suppose you could call that a demotion, but that would involve Maybin getting a promotion in the first place, and I’d never heard of that promotion.

Why not just trade him for anything they can get for him? Think he’s actually going to be around by the time the Bills are any good?
Very few teams would be willing to take on his salary. He’s virtually untradeable.

Hmmmm
It is time for him to make up his mind. My feelings it is time for him to either retire or move on.

WOOT!
That is all.

I wish him well
New coaches -new team philosophy—new defensive scheme, he was the Bills best pass rusher on a lousy defense. Don’t forget he also played on a horrible rushing defense as the starting defensive end.
He just needs to make up his mind and do it quickly. If his heart isn’t in playing in Buffalo he needs to speak up instead of the Hyming and Hawing——I might, maybe, possibly—Enough Already!!!

All the more reason to put him in as a situational pass rusher and let Maybin learn some more pass rush moves the finer points of the OLB position this year. I kinda don’t care what Maybin’s impact is in 2010 so long as he makes solid strides toward becoming our ROLB of the future.
Official ledge-talker-offer of the Buffalo Bills.
Have no idea why there is a line thru new team philosophy

That’d be because you had hyphens on either side of it.
