I woke up this morning out of a sound sleep and I realized that we have been had. So I got up and started doing alittle research and when I finished that research...Oh, I say and I say it again, we've been had, we've been took, we've been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, run amok...that's what he (Wilson) does.
I'm not a Gm or NFL head coach but I think I've watched enough football to know that the most important position of a football field is the quarterback. The second most important position (on the offesive side of the ball) is the left tackle, the player who protects your expensive quarterback. Hence, I would think that he (the quarterback) would be the highest paid person on the team. Then I realize we have BEEN HAD. The Bills was never going to bring Donavan Mcnabb here. They knew he wouldn't want to come to Buffalo, but if you trade Marshawn and maybe a fourth, he'd have to come. Then you give him 12 million for one year. After that year...we (the Bills fan) would win him over and he stays after he gets us in the playoffs. It would be worth the gamble. And Brom learns from him.
But over the past five years the Bills quarterbacks has averaged about $750,000 per season. The average pay for a top ten quarterback over that period is 8 million. WE BEEN TOOK! Over that period of time the average pay for a top ten left tackle is 7 million per year. WE BEEN HOODWINKED! The most they paid Jason Peters is 2.8 million and that was for one year. They paid Langston Walker $3 million but would have had to pay him 5 million if he hadn't been cut right before the season last year. We all was wondering why cut him, he's a decent right tackle...just move him there. BAMBOOZLED!
Think about this...if the Bills would bring in Gathier or Adams or McNiel our offensive line becomes pretty damn good overnight. Then we'd have Meredith and Bell as backups. Come on...I'm not a GM or a Coach but...YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM!
Yeah we've been led astray, run amok or what ever you want to call it. We are loyal...the most loyal fans in the NFL and they know it!
Guys were are not going to see a winner here until they begin to pay players. Look at our roster in the '90's. How many Hall of Famers did we have on those teams? How many pro bowlers? Remember when we would have nine or ten guys (probowlers) and Talley would be left out. How many HOF'ers do we have now? Not one. The one we had we cut him. YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM!
Ralph is not going to do it again...just look at what we paid the most important position over the last decade.
