An Idea For An OLB

Rickey Foley.  He was just released by the Seahawks (a 4-3 team) today where he was trying out as a situational DE/LB.  I think that he's a perfect fit as a pass rushing OLB in the 3-4.

I've had the pleasure of watching Foley play in the CFL for the last 4 years, and believe me it was a pleasure, where he dominated opposite Cameron Wake for the BC Lions.  And largely thanks to Foley's contributions last season, the Lions' didn't miss a beat after Wake signed with the Dolphins, moving Foley into Wake's old spot.

He's a fairly well sized pass rusher (6'2, 255Lbs) with a great first step, good speed, good power, and more importantly a good ability to shed blockers.  I'm not saying that he'd be a star for us, he'd be a liability in coverage and should only be used a a situational rusher.  But with the woes of our pass rushers right now he could deffinatly be an asset to the team if we could snatch him up before he returns to the CFL.

Now I've been saying for a while that I don't think that we'll sign any more players, and I still think that's true, but I also think that this guy is definably worth a look.
