NFL weekend notes | National Football Post
"Many have the Buffalo Bills as a lock to be the weakest team in the league and the front runner to hold the first pick in next April’s draft. I’m not so sure that is going to be the case. When you have a team that hasn’t won in awhile like Buffalo, the first thing you have to build is team confidence. New head coach Chan Gailey seems to be doing that. The Bills are not a playoff team, but they are stronger than many believe."

Why Kyle didn’t play Saturday – Inside The Bills
"We just protected him," said Gailey. "He had a little injury and we thought it was smarter not to play him in that ball game, let him fully recover and play this week."
More time for Brohm Thurs. – Inside The Bills
"We were trying to get him in there and they kept the ball for a little bit longer than we thought they might," said head coach Chan Gailey. "So we’re going to try to make sure this week we get his numbers up in this ball game."
NT Harvey chance for practice squad – Inside The Bills
"Harvey was on the squad for the last half of the 2009 season. Facing so many 3-4 defenses this season, the Bills offense could benefit from a scout team nose tackle like Harvey in the practice setting each week. Buffalo’s first four opponents this season employ a 3-4 front."

C.J. not moving up depth chart just yet – Inside The Bills

Parrish Is Glad The Bills Didn't Get Rid Of Him - WGR 550 SportsRadio

WR Parrish finally finding niche in Bills' offense - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
"The invisible man in Buffalo no longer, Parrish is suddenly feeling revitalized by having secured the slot receiver’s job in first-year coach Chan Gailey’s newly introduced offensive scheme. It’s a role that Gailey pegged for Parrish since spring, and one that should allow the undersized—he’s generously listed at 5 feet 9—but speedy player to use his abilities to exploit mismatches against slower defenders."

“The NFL Live crew gives you their take on the AFC East.” I didn’t bother to watch.
For a while I actually thought it would be okay. They completely ignored them up until the last 5 seconds when we got an “oh by the way there is also the Buffalo Bills. but since they haven’t made the playoffs in a decade we aren’t going to talk about them.”
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
I noticed that on SC last night...
And why is everyone in love with Chad Henne? He had a decent year last year… but them and the Sirius NFL Radio guys all think this kid is going to be dynomite… idk I just dont see it.
Where else would you rather be?
See…. glad I didn’t watch. :-)

Of course HBO would say no
Even though the Chiefs did the show 3 years ago. Not exactly a hotbed of football for the national media.

Judging by his comments I am glad he isn’t here. Although he stated that C.J. Spiller was the best rookie in the draft.

ESPN makes me depressed
They ignore teams that don’t win consistently and give no genuine analysis on anything. Not “Here’s why the Bills won’t compete this year,” but instead, “The Bills don’t make the playoffs so we’re going to ignore them.” This is, unfortunately, very typical.
Exactly why I haven’t watched ESPN in years. They don’t cover the league they cover the teams they like.

Marketing data dictates
Colin Cowherd, whatever your opinion of the guy, makes a lot of good points. He was discussing why ESPN gives Favre’s annual striptease wall to wall coverage and he said its because it draws in the target audience – basically, the casual sports viewer. The ratings don’t lie. The ESPN producers don’t care about the fanatics because they figure, they will tune in no matter what – whether its Favre 24-7 (complaining the whole time because its making them nauseous) or whether its profiles of every borderline guy at every camp. Who ESPN is after is, averaged out on a national level, the guy who tunes in for five minutes for an update because he has a vague interest in the story. Why does he tune in? because its Favre and because if he comes back he changes the landscape in the NFC North – Vegas moves their lines because of the outcome. Its news.
Is it a story to examine in depth how we have a gaping holes at LT and QB, no pass rush to speak of and no chance in a division with the Pats, Jets and Fins, all Big Market teams.
If Spiller starts ripping 150 yards and a TD every game, making hilight reels of dbacks diving for dust in the open field, we’ll start to get some love. If we start upsetting favorites, we’ll get more love. If we become a force to be reckoned with, we’ll be THE underdog story and everyone will be tuning in to love us and find out how we turned it around.
Like it or not, no one cares about the Bills outside of Western NY as long as we continue to suck. Sucking is not news.

this is pretty true. remember when we started 4-0 a few years back? We were alllll over. There were all sorts of hypotheticals about us meeting a possibly undefeated titans team in week ten, and maybe somebody else in the super bowl, etc etc etc. After the loss to the cards, we also got a ton of love for beating the chargers. We lost the love when we started to stink. End of story.

Gailey was coy about his plans once all three running backs are healthy.
“We don’t know how that’s going to shake out,” Gailey said. "We’ve got the luxury of three pretty good backs. So we’ll make that decision when we get closer there.
“They may all be in there at the same time. You never know. On the first play of the game.”</blockquote>

The John Clayton Report is RIdiculous
This is by far the worst I have seen it in years at ESPN, to rate Favre above Aaron Rodgers, is the biggest crock I have ever seen, To rate Byron Leftwich above Trent or any other staring AB is absolutlly bogus and to have Tony Romo above Donovan McNabb is perpostorous, John Clayton – You are an Idiot and your football opinions should be kept in a prison cell.
