What should I look for when I rewatch this game?
Hey gang. I bought NFL Game Rewind this year, so I'm going to watch our game again in the next few days. I was wondering if there was anything people would like me to focus on while I watch it. I think Ron will do his line stuff, and there will be more general reviews of each unit, but I was thinking I could watch a bunch of smaller things and report back.
Wondering how many times Troup got on the field? Or how Ellison fared after Poz got hurt? Or whether McGee pressed his man with any regularity? Anyway, I don't have anything off the top of my head, so I'd love it if you guys could tell me what you'd like me to look for, and then I'll write it up in a fan post later this week.
Thanks for your ideas!
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Honestly why would you want to put yourself through that?
I know we're going to have a big challenge to do better than what we did last year, but I feel we have the team to do that. We want to win with numbing repetition. - Jim Harbaugh

haha great point
"I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly"
awesome idea JPH
One thing I would like you to take a look at for me:
It seemed to me that Trent Edwards was dropping back and with pressure closing in from the edges, simply was not stepping up into his pocket to get that extra time to find a receiver downfield.
So was Trent just that bad and not stepping into his pocket or was their pressure coming up the middle so consistently that he couldnt step up into it.

good call poz
I would like to see that as well.
If all the stars align, pigs learn to fly, humanity achieves world peace, doctors discover a cure for cancer, scientists perfect cold fusion, and hell freezes over, the Bills might win the SB this year.
I said that exact same thing in another thread. People understate how good a QB can make their line look and vice versa. I’d also say that it was a combination of pressure up the middle and Trent just refusing to step up in the pocket and instead rolling out of the pocket.

yea
I had the impression that Trent wasn’t stepping into the pocket but then CBATL32 offered that he thought the interior linemen were getting pushed back so as to not allow Trent to step up into. Im curious if JPH can find out whats going on so we can figure out what the problem is.

this is one thing im going to look at.
Ron will probably have more exact details, but I’ll definitely take a look.
CJ Spiller: CJ stands for Chris Johnson.
The Set Ups
I was watching Chan the Man trying to pass to make room for the run. He was constantly handicapped by the O-Line. Please keep an eye out on the set-ups and how often the O-Line collapsed when they shifted back and forth.
Go big or go home.
McKelvin
He was physical all day and efficient in coverage. For a guy I was ready to write off as a bust, I’m excited to watch him progress as the season progresses.

a lot of people were ready to write him off after one season, as one of his most ardent supporters even I have to admit it was a relief to see him produce so well. Its always good to see progress.

He didn’t just show flashes of promise (like he did with his up and down rookie year). He was really, really good. I had never seen him or heard of him to be a physical presence either…also was glad to see Florence rebound from a bad preseason.
On the negative side, I thought Whitner was late on several plays and even my favorite two players on the team, Wilson and Byrd weren’t very good when they were in there. All and all, with McKelvin playing so well, I have really high hopes for the secondary.

i have always thought mckelvin will be great

I’ll be re-watching tomorrow night. Charting formations, counting reps, and taking notes.

Keep an eye on a Parrish. He looked pretty good to me today.
And when pressure came from the Left was it on Bell or Meredith?
The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. Lastly, her wonderlic score was pretty awful, answering "meow meow meow" for most of the questions- Dr. Brackish Okun
See how many times Trent had more than a second or two of time in the pocket but instead of throwing, waited for the pressure to get to him, rolled out and then threw the ball away.
I swear that happened more than five times.

He Rolled Out...
…into the pressure! That is one habit of his that continually amazes me. My wife is a huge Pack fan (we’ll be at Lambeau next week) so I get to see a lot of Rogers. He has a sense of stepping underneath or around the pressure, then making a play. TE seems to have no such ‘sense’, and he always seems to either go turtle or actually go TO where the pressure is coming from! Astonishing.
I just want to know if it's just my imagination
Count how times Trent locked onto a receiver compared to looking for a second option. Also watch the defensive secondary watching Trent’s eyes.
