Report: Bills Starters To Get 12-14 Snaps Against Detroit
Chris Brown at BuffaloBills.com is reporting that Bills head coach Chan Gailey plans to play his starters 12-14 snaps in this evening's preseason finale against the Lions.
Brown writes that Gailey's decision is based upon his belief that anything less would not allow either unit to get into a rhythm. The snap count should represent a significant chunk of the first quarter for each unit, if not longer.
BuffaloBills.com also reported earlier this week that running back Fred Jackson, tight ends Shawn Nelson and Derek Schouman, and linebacker Reggie Torbor are all out for this game, while right tackle Cornell Green will be a game-time decision.
Tonight's game begins at 6:30 PM. Join us then in our customary GameThread to chat about the game as it happens live.

I like the move
We’re not exactly the Colts or Saints going into this season. While injuries are always a concern, I think it’s more important to get a few more reps in with new offensive and defensive systems.
NFL Network
Can’t see game till Friday at some obscure time I might add! NFL Network what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!!

No, that’s just how the TV guide refers to Bills games.

It’s on Friday at noon.

Any chance Meredith earns himself a starting role...
If Green doesn’t play and Meredith shines tonight?
Green has been pretty horrible so far, and while Meredith isn’t that much better, he might still be a better option.
So is there any chance that Meredith can earn himself a regular season starting role at RT?

It will be interesting.
I mean if he doesn’t earn the starting role that sends one message, if he does earn the role it will send another message. I guess the bottom line is depth, and level of qualtiy depth would be the question. I think we will be average at RT which isn’t saying much, but the end result of getting qualtiy depth out of the position is greater as time goes on than right now/today.
YOU ARE OUT of you kuku fufu mine craker laker Flaber baber FUNKI chunki brain. WE want to winn every year -- abayarde
The again Meredith might be more valuable as depth this season. Seeing as he can play both LT and RT. i wouldn’t want Green to be our only depth at LT.

Not right away IMO.
I would say that the better he plays tonight tho… and if/when Green struggles… Meredith would be able to put himself in a good position to end up starting some games at RT halfway thru the year or so… Id say thats definitely a possability.
Where else would you rather be?
Sounds about right.
Hopefully we put together a 10-12 play drive, capping it with a TD, and get the starters out of there. And three 3 and outs would be a nice 12 plays for the D :-)

Well, gotta hope for no injuries
And since they’ll be playing, let’s hope they play pretty well. It’d be nice for Edwards and the O to go out on a high note.

With our luck we’ll have season ending injuries to Edwards, Poz and Spiller tonight.

Pessimist
The optimist would slap you and the realist would tell you they would already be injured if they were going to get hurt…
