Buffalo Bills 2000s Worst-Decade Team - Worst Play Selection

At the beginning of May MattRichWarren presented us with his Buffalo Bills 2000s All-Decade Team series.  And for about a month we voted on a series of poles to determine who was worthy of being on that team.  But more often than not we also ended up complaining over the limited sometimes horrible talent that we had to pick from for any given position.  So it was about at the TE position that I thought "hey why don't we also vote on the worst players that played for this team over the last decade?"  And so here we are.

Now just like MattRichWarren's series I have a few criteria for players to be eligible for this team.  They had to have played in at least a full season's worth of games in this decade to be eligible.  Starting is not requirement, but you do have to have played significant amounts of snaps in those games.  That means that, for example, the Bills 3rd receiver might make the list, but a 4th or 5th stringer wont be considered.  That means that we wont end up voting for 7th rounders that ended up playing 2 snaps.  These are going to be real players that played real roles on this team over the last ten years.  And just because a player ended up on the All-Decade team does not mean that you can't also be on the worst-decade team.

Apologies for the long wait in between posts to close up the series.  But this is the next to last poll in the series and probably one of the funnest one:  Worst Play!!!!

Props again go out to Paul E. for coming up with the concept of this one, as well as a short list for the poll itself.  So without farther adieu, the Bills worst most spectacularly horrible plays of the decade (with video!).

Eddie Robinson being juked out of his jock strap by Chad Pennington
One of the worst LB plays I've ever seen, not only did Robinson entirely miss Pennington, but it also led to a Jets TD!

Jets VS Bills:  OT kick return for a TD
First play of overtime, the Jets return the kickoff for a TD to win the game.  Now this isn't so bad on it's own, except for the fact that that was their second return for a TD of the game.

JP Losman Fumble VS Jets
Third straight play vs the Jets (sensing a pattern here?).  We were winning, we had this game in the bag, all we had to do was run out the clock.  Instead we have a combination of worst play called and worst play execution that I have ever seen.  JP runs out after the play action and FUMBLES THE FREAKING BALL!!!!!!!  We lost the game.

Leodis McKelvin fumble VS Patriots MNF opener 2009
We were up 24-19, we had the ball kicked back to us for the 2 minute warning.  Again all we had to do was run out the clock to win the game.  So what does Leo do when the ball is kicked in the end zone?  Take a knee for the touchback?  Of course not.  He took it out.  He also would have done pretty well if he chose to go down on the first tackle, but he didn't, he tried to go on.  He fumbled the ball and the rest is history.

Music City Miracle Forward Pass
1999 season?  Sure, but the play did happen during the last decade (Jan. 8th, 2000).  I have never sworn so profusely at my television set than on that day.  It is very clearly a forward pass, and even though reviewed it the play stood.  Un-freakin'-believable.

So there you have it, the Bills most profanity inducing, horribly terrible, head-pounding-against-the-wall, worst plays of the decade.  You guys go vote (like I have to really ask on this one!).
