Adam Schefter tweets: Jets cut FB Tony Richardson

This had to be a tough one: Jets released veteran FB Tony Richardson, one of the league's classiest players.

Tony Richardson could provide a great veteran presence in the locker room, a teacher for our young running back committee, an excellent blocker, and a man with inside knowledge of the Jets offense in one signing. Anyone interested, Rumblers?

Sounds like classy guy, but I think our team needs to develop it’s own, younger team leader. Team chemistry is needed, but don’t think older import is answer. Maybe a player from within steps up and assumes that role.

For all the use we get out of McIntyre……..TR is better. The classic old school full back at the end of his career. good fullbacks are hard to find, but he is older therefore may not be a good move. Maybe we just stand pat with McIntyre and hope this staff can make him better.
