They worked with them, gave them an opportunity and those guys took advantage of their opportunity. That’s what it’s all about."

Power Rankings: AFC East looks loaded - AFC East Blog - ESPN
"Throughout last season I criticized the panel for rating the Bills way too high. Now I disagree with how little credit the Bills are getting. Sando and Clayton each ranked the Bills the worst team in the NFL. Kuharsky saved them from being on the bottom of the Power Rankings by pegging them at a robust 30. My prediction for the Bills this year is five or six victories. That would place them much higher than 31st."

Unfortunately, i agree with harrington. miami week used to be such a big deal – i hate them just as much still, but i don’t think the game has any feel to it like it once did. I don’t even think my little sister knows we’re anything but division rivals.

It’s Miami Week. Squish the Fish, right? Are you pumped?

Yes.

The Bills are completely irrelevant so they can’t even have a rival. The Bills are facing the ugly reality they’ll be big losers.

Yet somehow I’m still going to find myself hollering half to high heaven on game day.

The Jets are reality stars.

As some of my students would say, “My not care is large.”

Seriously, just because the other teams are big news, we have to feel crappy about our team? Sorry, but that’s a load of butt. And I didn’t say “butt” in real life, either.

I can definitely still hate the Dolphins, Mike Harrington. But nice try.

by Brian Galliford on Sep 8, 2010 7:48 AM EDT reply actions

i think his point (however poorly written) is that there are no major objects of hate – we still hate the dolphins because they are the dolphins, but there is no marino, no cox, no killer b’s, no clayton, no higgs, etc etc.

by quantumuprising on Sep 8, 2010 9:21 AM EDT up reply actions

Well, to reflect directly upon one of his points – yes, I find it VERY easy to hate a guy that frantically searches a grass field for a diamond earring after practice. Not too hard to openly laugh at that one.

Clearly, the rivalry isn’t what it was, mostly because the two teams have sucked far more than they’ve been good. But “gonzo”? Hardly.

by Brian Galliford on Sep 8, 2010 9:24 AM EDT up reply actions

yeah, but you hate that guy because he’s a pretentious bag of…..pretentiousness. i hate any guy that wears freaking diamonds under his helmet, regardless of team.

what i took from his article, and i hate myself, is that it isn’t a giant rivalry game anymore…its just more of a toliet bowl championship.

I agree with that. I just don’t like the fact that he says Bills fans “can’t hate the Dolphins anymore.” Watch us, man.

Also: “Are you pumped? Didn’t think so.” Speak for yourself, Mike.

It's easy to laugh at him!

Come on! I saw the story about him and others searching the field for his diamond, and got a good laugh out of it. What got me even more was how they had to call off their search so the grounds crew could mow the grass.

I’m taking this as a good sign. Attention to details. Chan is chewing out receivers over details—run the route exactly the way it should be run. But knucklehead in Miami lacks that attention to detail—not showing up prepared for practice the way he should be.

Let’s just get this thing started already so these guys will shut up. Kinda hard to say we’ll be 2-14 when we’re 1-0.

they will say the bills will end up

with as many losses as possible. if they for 6-0, the media will say they are gonna end up 6-10.

Don't care what "experts" think...

…I care about the W’s and L’s on gameday. Will the Bills go 16-0? Highly doubtful. But could they stay in each and every game pulling out up to 9-10 wins? I believe that’s possible. It’s also possible they go 2-14. That is why the games are played though. Each and every year, a team that the “experts” didn’t expect to do well step up to make the playoffs. So why not be cautiously optimistic?

I’m generally more pumped about Shark Week than Dolphin Week, anyways.
