Bills Pathetic In Season-Ending 38-7 Loss to Jets

Coming into today the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills had very little to play for. The Jets had locked up a wild card berth and the 4-11 Bills had nothing to play for but pride. Turns out the Bills pride was more pathetic than powerful.

The Bills offense without starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick scored zero points, lost six turnovers, gained only six first downs, and allowed three sacks and multiple QB hurries on Brian Brohm before he was replaced by Levi Brown.

The defense wasn't any better allowing the Jets JV squad to amass 388 yards and 17 first downs. Third-string running back Joe McKnight toted the rock 32 times for 158 yards and back-up QB Mark Brunell threw his first two touchdown passes since 2006. Wildcat QB Brad Smith took two option snaps for a total of 60 yards on the Jets first possession and the Jets never looked back.

Buffalo's lone bright spot was an interception return for a touchdown by Jairus Byrd in the second half. It was Buffalo's only score on the day on a well-timed jump by the second-year man out of Oregon.

Brian Moorman set the record for most punts ever by a Bills punter after he booted six on the day for an impressive net of 41.7 yards per punt.

The Bills finish the season 1-5 against the AFC East and 4-12 overall. It's the team's worst record since finishing 3-13 in 2001.

Vent, Bills fans. It'll be at least eight months until we see them on a field again.
