Info on Recent SB LTs
Anyone else notice that former Buffalo Bill LT scrubs have been the starting LTs for two of the last six superbowl teams? In this superbowl, Jonathan Scott will be the starting LT for Pittsburgh while Mike Gandy was the starting LT for Arizona. This got me to thinking...
Arizona Cardinals (2008) = Mike Gandy - A former 3rd round draft pick (I didn't know he had that pedigree, not that it means much), and I can't tell if he was the starter all year, or if he was a starter due to injury. I want to say it is the former.
Pittsburg Steelers (2008) = Max Starks - A former 3rd rnd draft pick, took over LT with four games left in that season due to injury to Marvel Smith.
New Orleans Saints (2009) = Jermon Bushrod - A former 4th rnd dp, played second fiddle to Jammal Brown until Brown went down with an injury in 2009.
Indianapolis Colts (2009) = Charlie Johnson - A former 6th rnd dp, 1st string LT
Pittsburg Steelers (2010) = Jonathan Scott - A former 5th rnd dp, took over for an injured Max Starks (I believe)
Greenbay Packer (2010) = Chad Clifton - A former 2nd rnd dp, 1st string LT
A couple of things strike me about this list:
- Only 50% of SB teams had their starting LT for the SB.
- Chad Clifton is the only PB LT on the list
- No 1st rnd dps are on the list
- 2 former Bills are on this list (as previously stated)
Does this info say anything to you?
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

It tells me somehow E. Wang is going to the SB next year.
That is interesting info. It gives me more confidence that D.Bell can get us there. If we can get better in some other key areas.
Please base your arguments in provable facts instead of pulling stuff out of your rear. -CanadianBillsFan- This is why talk is cheap because the supply always exceeds the demand.
What it tells me...
is that in any given year, we, the fans have our own idea of priority for the first round pick, ALWAYS, looking toward immediate gratification…
Problem is, at that rate, it would take 22 years to field your starters, and even if you hit on every player, in every round, “forcing” some lower rd picks into the lineup, it would take 7 1/2 years to even field a team (7 picks X 7 1/2 yrs)
Went to my first "BB" meeting today... When I stood, introduced myself, and admitted I was a Billsaholic, the other members threw beer cans at me!!
