Reading another Rumblers post and got to thinking about it. I grew up and played and it was always man on man. Various packages (personal) to match "what" we believed they might attempt. Whether it be 3-4 (unlikely then) or 4-3 each man had a person or lane to secure. I truly do not comprehend Zone defense. It reminds me off the prevent (winning) D which I always detested. I much prefer watching someone beat their opponent then seeing blown assignments. DB or LB's slipping or biting on a deek is 1 thing. No one within 5 yrds ( but with 2 to 3 fellas) watching him catch it is another. Would really appreciate some enlightenment on zone from those played . It just doesn't seem work. Ty for any responses. IS it strictly for possibly covering for potentially weak links?
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
