Buffalo Bills would do well to finish 8-8 | Democrat and Chronicle
"Many Buffalo Bills fans are second-guessing coach Chan Gailey for putting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in position to throw an interception instead of settling for a field goal to take a 27-24 lead with 4:02 remaining Sunday at the New York Giants. The Bills had the ball on the Giants' 27-yard line, first-and-10 when Fitzpatrick was picked off inside the 5-yard line. I'm coming to Gailey's defense for the same reason I believe the Bills would do well to finish 8-8 this season: His defense."
CANOE -- SLAM! Sports - NFL - Bills need a little help from their friends
"The atmosphere should be great going up there to Toronto, I know they are looking forward to seeing us play," receiver Stevie Johnson said Sunday, likely reciting a company line we’re going to hear regularly. "How we are doing now, everybody up there in Canada should enjoy seeing the Buffalo Bills."
Buffalo Bills Replay: Sizing up Bills at bye week | Democrat and Chronicle

Sheppard Taking Over At ILB For Davis - WGR 550
"The guy has got very good instincts. He's a big, physical guy that can run, which is a good combination to have at the linebacker position," said the head coach. "He's picked up things. For as little training camp as he had, he's picked up things pretty well."

Tuesday morning QB: After Jackson's big run, Giants adjusted - The Buffalo News
"After the 80-yard run, the Giants adjusted not only to prevent another Jackson breakout, but to stop Wood from peeling off and taking out a linebacker like Boley, whom he outweighs by more than 80 pounds. The Giants played tackles Benard and Canty in the two gaps on either side of the center to thwart Wood from blocking linebackers."
Spiller to fill receiver vacancy - for now - The Buffalo News
""He's got good hands, you saw that [Sunday]. He catches the ball when you throw it to him," Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said of Spiller. "He's tough because he's fast and they've got to respect his speed. He made a really nice catch coming over to the sideline, a 20-yard type catch [it went for 15 yards]. I mean, he really looked like a receiver on that. He did some good stuff. He's going to add some versatility."

Inside The Bills | Fred gets Peter King praise
"Fred Jackson is, by far, the most under-appreciated running back in football. It wouldn’t surprise me if he becomes a star for the Bills the way Thurman Thomas was. Sixteen for 121 Sunday. Just another day."

agree with bob mathews at D&C…
after this loss, we will end up 8-8…
power rankings, i put the bills at 17
Lol. So, we were 4-1, we lost a game, and that equals 8-8. Logical..

In all fairness, he’s been saying 8-8 the entire season, when we were 3-1, 4-1, etc.

Well, you said:
“After this loss, we will end up 8-8”. And I guess I just fail to see the correlation between losing by three points to the NFC East leading Giants, and the Bills going 4-6 the rest of the season..

4-6
Especially when we still play the Dolphins twice, the Jets twice, the Redskins, Cowboys, Broncos..
Which of those world beaters can’t the Bills beat?

I think we’re underestimating the Jets’ defense.

I’m not saying we will win all these games. I’m just saying that at this point it’s certainly conceivable that we could win most of them, and I didn’t even include the Titans up there.
I think we can at least split with the Jets. We’ll see, I mean, we definitely could be 8-8, could be worse than that. But at this point in the season, I definitely see more than four wins there. Plus, I hate negativity!!!! lol :)

you could have just said you hate a more negative perspective than yours… infact, it is not at all negative… start of the season everyone would have taken an 8-8 season… now you are 4-2 all of a sudden you want more?
you say at this point it is certainly conceivable we will most of the remaining games… it is just as easily conceivable that we go 4-6 the rest of the way…
and it’s not like i am saying, “they are the bills, no way they will win”… there are valid reasons which i still believe in and have been harping for weeks… lack of team depth, poor secondary, no pass rush, slowing offense, more injuries… i said all this before these started to show and now they indeed are surfacing

As I wasn't around much of Sunday to comment...
I LOVE that Spiller played WR in Jersey. It’s time they find a reason to put him on the field.

'BOUT FRIGGIN' TIME

Andra Davis was absolutely horrible vs. the Giants

"If You Ain't a Bill I Don't Give a Fxck Bout Ya!! Most Disrespected Team in NFL! I Always feel Disrespected! I'm All In!" -- Steve Johnson
I pegged the Bills @ 8-8 prior to the season. This was seen as optimistic even amongst other Bills fans, and surely exceed the expectation of most national pundits. I was hopeful to be .500 by the bye and am happy to see us at 4-2. At least point, an 8-8 finish would surely be depressing, but would still represent progress. I’m more hopeful than that though and think 10-6 is a true possibility. Those 4 losses would come against the Cowboys, Jets, San Diego and New England. Coincidentally all 4 of lose losses would come on the road. We’ll see how the season pans out but i’ve still got us in the Wild Card Race.
