Salt to the wound?
Well not really, but congratulations to Aaron Maybin, I suppose.
If someone were to describe what his first NFL sack would look like, it'd be exactly how this played out. He rushes WAAAAY too far upfield, takes himself out of the play, flops around like a goofball because he's a complete spaz, and then hustles to get to the unsuspecting and unaware QB.

that was hilarious.
my favorite part is that he really misses flacco entirely. if the ball wasnt being held in a bad spot on flaccos hip maybin wouldve whiffed on the play all together

Pathetic....... looks like a high school kid out there.
Enjoy your 1 sack and strip Maybin.
Enjoy him as your starter Rex.

Wow
That fumble was Flacco’s fault for not even attempting to sort of protect the football…

Or attempting to throw the ball after 8 seconds.

He used his speed, kept his balance, and didn't give up. Why all the Maybin hate?
It wasn’t his fault he was drafted so high. I think he worked hard while he was here. He didn’t bad mouth the Bills while he was here. He just wasn’t very good. Or, are we really worried that Maybin might succeed somewhere else and make the Bills look foolish for letting good players walk out the door….again? Well, that isn’t his fault either. Relax Bills fans. At least the kid has one highlight he can show his kids some day.
What the hell happened in Cincy???? It looked like the Bills bodies made the flight, but they left their souls to party on the Whagon Blaster.

Good for Maybin.
He got that very unconventional strip sack in front of his hometown crowd. As Joe P. said above, it’s not his fault DJ picked him too high.
I do have to admit I did not think Aaron Maybin and Shawne Merriman would have the same number of sacks 4 weeks into the season. I wouldn’t trade Merriman for Maybin back, but I am surprised at that stat somewhat.

Could not have said it better – what a spaz!

He played more on that one play than in his whole career in Buffalo.
Blue collared t-shirts, for blue collared fans.
It was a weird sack
He was so out of the play that it did not even possibly enter Flacco mind that he could come back into play.
I do have to say that Rex Ryan is not a BS type, so if Rex believes in the kid, then he may be legit. It may be a matter of system and complementary players. If you guys who can give a good push up the middle, great lock down corners who can force the QB to hold the ball for 10 seconds, and great coverage linebackers that can take away the dump-off pass, then Maybin has a chance to get 15 sacks a year.
