The Buffalo Bills were darlings of the NFL after an upset, come-from-behind victory over the New England Patriots highlighted a 3-0 start. Last week, the Bills were a Top-10 mainstay in NFL power rankings everywhere.
Naturally, after Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Bills have begun slipping in those power rankings. Again, we've beaten this horse to death: power rankings capture the current mood of the NFL, and nothing more. Right now, the Bills lack the luster they had a week ago.
That said, the Bills still rank relatively high in most places. In fact, we can almost still call them a Top-10 mainstay. They're ranked No. 9 this week by ESPN.com and Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, Peter King of Sports Illustrated, NFL.com and SB Nation all have them at No. 10. Brian Billick of FOXSports.com, however, has them at No. 12.
The Bills will have a chance to re-endear themselves to the hearts of power rankers on Sunday when they take on a Philadelphia Eagles team that's catching a lot of heat from said power rankers.
