Today, we turn our attentions - along with the Buffalo Bills - to this Sunday's home game against the Philadelphia Eagles. When the Bills take the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium this weekend, they'll be attempting to complete just the sixth three-game home winning streak the team has put together during their 11-plus seasons without making the playoffs.
Buffalo last won three straight home games during their 5-1 start in 2008, beating Seattle, Oakland and San Diego to get there. They also put together three-game win streaks in 2005 (Miami, the Jets and Kansas City), 2002 (Miami, San Diego and Cincinnati) and 2000 (San Diego, the Jets and Chicago).
The franchise's longest home winning streak during their playoff drought is five games, which they put together during a furious late-season rally that fell just short of the playoffs in 2004. Buffalo defeated Miami, Arizona, the Jets, St. Louis and Cleveland in that run, but needed a sixth straight home win against Pittsburgh to make the playoffs a reality. Obviously, that did not happen.
It won't be easy, however, as the Eagles have won seven of their last 10 on the road.
