Bills vs. Eagles Practice Report: Nick Barnett Sits Out Wednesday
Buffalo Bills inside linebacker Nick Barnett headlined a list of eight players that did not practice on Wednesday as the team began preparations for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Barnett told reporters that he tweaked an ankle near the end of last week's loss to Cincinnati, and was held out of today's workout as a precaution. Early indications are that running back C.J. Spiller (knee), center Eric Wood (ankle) and linebacker Shawne Merriman (shoulder) received similar treatment.
Demetrius Bell (shoulder), Ruvell Martin (knee), Chris White (hamstring) and Aaron Williams (collarbone) all missed practice on Wednesday. Bell, White and Williams are expected to be out for the foreseeable future.
The news wasn't all bad, however. Terrence McGee was a full practice participant for the first time since Week 1, though it remains unclear if he'll play this weekend. Kraig Urbik was also a full participant on Wednesday, and figures to return to the starting lineup this weekend.
On Philadelphia's side of things, Jason Peters and Trent Cole missed practice - as expected - while Brent Celek (illness) and Juqua Parker (ankle) were limited. 11 more players were listed as full participants, including quarterback Michael Vick.

Spiller looked pretty banged up at the end of the game. Obvious limp.
Man, we really need McGee back on the field. Hope he is ready.
If not, them sit him another week so he doesn’t tear it completely.

Agreed.
We need McGee back as soon as possible. Put MckLovin back in the nickel spot.

At the time, that Spiller injury looked somewhat serious. I didn’t see anything more on the subject until this morning. I think this is the week to get him involved in the short passing game, too. Bummer.

Just...
let Barnett play with a crutch. If he’s out of position on a tackle…all he has to do is swing the crutch at the runner and beat him down with it. I don’t think the refs or Godell would have a problem with that. I certainly wouldn’t.
None of this bodes well when there is fourteen games left.
This is why last weeks game was so important and why every game going forward is so important. These young guys need to be ready, it is inevitable that they play because they are our depth and our future. Our regular players will have to become perfectionist as well, limiting the drops, missed assignments and extra practice sessions in the class and on the field. To good of start to let it slip away. The season is far from over but it is a very long haul and many teams are feeling it worse than us but many don’t have the inexperience that we possess. Time to suit up and some PT.
