DeeElAre's Quarter by Quarter Prediction!

This week, the Buffalo Bills travel to the Lone Star State to take on "America’s Team". This year, "America’s Team" currently has a 4-4 record, and is 2nd place in the NFC East behind a very good New York Giants team. They are ranked 22nd overall in pts scored, but 7th overall in yards per game. Defensively, they are a little more consistent with 16th in pts scored, 11th in yards gained, and 16th and 10th in pass and rush defense respectively. Now, where does this leave the Bills? It leaves them with a very winnable game versus an opponent who’s only win of note is against a San Francisco team that was still figuring things out in week 2.

Individual Matchups:

Football may be a team effort, but the game is won and lost in individual battles.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.       <!--[endif]-->Marcell Dareus vs. Phil Costa

Dareus is coming off a frustrating game playing opposite Nick Mangold, while Costa has been paving the way for DeMarco Murray the past 2 weeks. If Dareus can push Costa around some and collapse the pocket a few times, the entire defense will benefit as it did vs. the Redskins.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.       <!--[endif]-->DeMarcus Ware vs. TBD

Whoever the Bills trot out there at left tackle is in for a hell of a day. Ware has 12 sacks through 8 games, and will be looking for more this week. If Levitre/Hairston can limit the number of shots to Fitzpatrick’s blindside, the Bills chances at coming out with a win rise dramatically.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.       <!--[endif]-->Dez Bryant/Laurent Robinson vs. Terrence McGee, Drayton Florence, and Leodis McKelvin.

Last week the Bills secondary did a decent job on a group of physical, talented (offensive pass interference masters) receivers for the Jets. This week the they will need to step up even more limit the big plays that Bryant and co. certainly have the capacity to make.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->4.       <!--[endif]-->Stevie Johnson vs. Terrence Newman/Mike Jenkins

Was going to stop at 3, but I had to mention that if Stevie can cleanly beat Darrelle Revis, he can create separation with anybody.

Game Prediction

1st Quarter: Bills coaching goes back to what works. The short quick underneath passing game may have been taken away last week, but this week it comes back with a vengeance. Stopping Stevie on a quick slant is impossible and the Bills will use this, and then try to stretch the field with David Nelson deep down the middle, and hopefully Donald Jones will be back as well. Fitz usually follows up a bad game with a good one, Thanksgiving comes early in Dallas, with Fitz carving up the Dallas D for a TD much like the traditional turkey. Mr. Raynor proves his worth and makes a field goal as well. Bills shut down Murray early, but the focus on the running game allows Tony Romo to air it out.

End of 1: 10-7

2nd Quarter: Bills continue to empty the clip offensively, Fitzpatrick to Johnson looks like Kelly to Reed on Sunday. Bills tack on another TD and field goal. Dallas answers 1 TD, but the pre halftime drive stalls, and they manage a field goal

Halftime: 20-17, Bills lead.

3rd Quarter: Chan proves once again why he belongs in Buffalo, by re-affirming why Fred Jackson belongs in Buffalo (pay the man!). The ball is in Jacksons hands no less than 20 times in the 2nd half, with a combination of screens, draws, and power running, all complemented by excellent instincts and timing. Freddy reaches 100 yds for the game in the 3rd quarter, leads Bills on a TD drive. DeMarco Murray finally finds some chinks in the Bills run D and does his best FredEx impression, and helps the ‘Boys rack up 7 pts, while Tony Romo is mostly competent as well.

End of 3: 27-24, Bills lead.

4th Quarter: Looks like it’s going to be another nail biter in Dallas. Right up until some Fitzmagic happens and the Amish rifle throws a perfect ball 40 yds. downfield to a streaking Donald Jones, and that’s all she wrote. Dallas resembles Dallas in the Lions game, Bills D clamps down, game over.

Final: 34-24 Bills.

Stats:

Fitz: 22-30 300 yds, 3 TDS

Freddy: 26 carries, 150 yds, 1 TD, 5 receptions, 60 yds.

Stevie: 8 catches, 112 yds, 2 TDs.

Marcell Dareus: 2 sacks, 1 FF

*DISCLAIMER* This is a very optimistic prediction. Given I'm a die-hard Bills fan sometimes I let my eternal hope get the better of me.

ALSO: I will be attending the game Sunday. Should I paint my chest? If so, what should I paint?

ALSO ALSO: I am writing this rather hurriedly, if there's any logical fallacies i made, please point them out and I will fix them.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I'll be there too.

wearing my new Dareus jersey in the front row of the nosebleeds. Hoping for a good game.

Don’t really care what the final is as long as the Bills are on the winning side of it.

Red, White and Blue Bills Stuff

That’s what to wear. The real America’s Team wears the country’s colors – that’s us! Show the Silver and Blues the real colors, guys!
