Web Rumblings: Buffalo Bills News, 11/11

Bills Focus: Running Back Home - BuffaloBills.com
"For a handful of Bills players, Sunday will be a homecoming as they return to their native Texas to play the Dallas Cowboys. But no one will be quite as close to their childhood roots as Running Back Fred Jackson."

McGee's biggest fan - From a distance - BuffaloBills.com
"The biggest thing about it is I have a brother that’s in prison," McGee told Buffalobills.com. "He’s incarcerated and he never gets to see me play. He really only gets to see the Cowboys and Texans games on TV, so this week he’ll be able to watch me play."

Former Bills players Ruben Brown and Cookie Gilchrist joined the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame earlier this week.

The Associated Press looks at Sunday's game.

David Nelson on playing close to home - BuffaloBills.com
"Buffalo's wide receiver talks about playing back in his home state of Texas and facing the Dallas Cowboys."

Inside The Bills | Fred: Fitz’s beard taking over
"[Laughing] It is [taking over]," Jackson said. "We give him a lot of crap for that too. He has to trim it up every now and then or he wouldn’t even be able to talk to us in the huddle."

Inside The Bills | 2 Bills on Midseason All-Pro team
George Wilson and Andy Levitre were two of the 25 players chosen for the mid-season All-Pro squad by CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco. Here’s what he wrote about each of them.

Inside The Bills | Nelson’s cheerleader challenge
"She works for the Dallas Cowboys and roots for the Dallas Cowboys, but I know she’ll have some inside joy if I do well," said Nelson. "So it’s going to be a fun experience and I’m going to definitely be looking and record the TV copy and see if they show her a couple of times to see her reaction. It’s going to be fun. It’s something we’ve been looking forward to for some time and we’ve already been trash talking back and forth a little bit."

Inside The Bills | Fred, Andy on another All-Pro list
"ProFootballFocus has named Jackson and Levitre to their Midseason All-Pro team. Jackson, who through their own statistical analysis ranks as the most elusive back in football was a unanimous choice, while Levitre was also named despite splitting time at left tackle the past two games. Here’s what they wrote about each of them."

Inside The Bills | Bills add practice squad DB
"Buffalo signed DB Mana Silva. The University of Hawaii prospect is a safety and had 14 interceptions for the Rainbows as a two-year starter. Silva entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Baltimore in July before being released prior to the regular season."

Inside The Bills | Kelsay out for Sunday
"That means Danny Batten is likely to get the start again in his absence. Batten started for Kelsay last week against the Jets with Spencer Johnson on the other side at the Jack LB position."

Inside The Bills | Aaron Williams update
"Aaron Williams had a good day," Gailey said. "He’s continuing to come along. He may play this week, he may not. It probably has more to do with how much he remembers and retains with respect to game plan than it does with his health."

Cowboys' Ware looks to blindside the Bills - The Buffalo News
"Time and time again, Ware has proven to be difficult to contain. The Bills defense has 15 sacks this season, only three more than Ware — who has more sacks than Kansas City and the same amount as Tampa Bay."

More Troup needed - The Buffalo News
"Troup says his back is feeling good, and he's eager to show what he can. It would help the Bills a lot if he can step in for 15 to 20 snaps a game, play well and give the Bills more run-stuffing support."

Whitner talks about the differences between 49ers, Bills | ProFootballTalk
"Safety Donte Whitner spent his first five NFL seasons in Buffalo.  After the lockout ended, Whitner signed with the 49ers, following a brief flirtation with the Bengals. So what's the biggest difference between the Niners and the Bills? We asked, he answered."

Whitner Offers Pointed Comments About Bills - WGR 550
"After not being given an offer to his liking from the team that drafted him, Whitner had some interesting things to say about the past direction of the Buffalo Bills when speaking with Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com."

Bills' Levitre Likely To Play LT Sunday - WGR 550
"If I had to guess right now, I'd say probably that's over a 50-percent chance that he'll play left tackle," said Chan Gailey. "We're still holding out hope for Chris Hairston, but I think that'll probably be the way it is -- at least to start the game."

Who's most likely to win: Bills or Dolphins? - AFC East Blog - ESPN
"Cast your vote on whether Buffalo or Miami is more likely to win in Week 10. You can also share your thoughts in the comments section below."

Coach approval rating: Keep Sparano? - AFC East Blog - ESPN
"Gailey spent most of the season in the top third of the league in fan approval. But the Bills are just 2-3 in their past five games. Gailey has dropped to the point where less than half of Bills fans approve of his coaching."

Terrence's brother got 99 years?

For an unarmed robbery plus simple assault? That’s egregious. Judge should have recused himself.

100% Agree with Whitner

on the TO comment v. keeping Jason Peters. I’m still bitter watching Peters line up for Philly. I’m not knocking Levitre or Wood, but I think Peters should’ve been paid and kept. For once, I agree with Donte. Making a move to bring in TO was not reasonably calculated to lead to victories – but it did create the highest season ticket sales since the early 90s, if I remember correctly. It is interesting to hear the same concern fans have expressed by the players, and I’m glad he gave a specific example.

Jason peter has never been the same player. After his holdout he became a diffrent player and has never really returned in best lt in nfl discussion.
