It's been somewhat of a roller coaster ride this year, but all in all, I think Nix and Gailey are making some pretty good progress with the team. To me this looks like a 9-7 team that will battle pretty well to the end of the season, but they are not quite there yet.
It's never too early to start thinking about next year, so here's a first version mock draft...let me know what you think.
- Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, Alabama (The Bills number one need is an edge rusher)
- Coby Fleener TE, Stanford (Fleener is a really good receiving TE, would help the Bills create mismatches)
- Andre Branch, DE/OLB Clemson (Again, edge rushers that can play standing up or with their hand in the dirt)
- Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State (A big coordinated receiver with OK speed, but can just play)
- Omar Bolden, CB, Arizona State (Help at CB, hard to say where we are at CB)
- Tom Compton, OT, South Dakota (From here on down, developmental types fighting for backup spots on the 53)
- Phillip Blake, C, Baylor
- Patrick Witt, QB, Yale
- Davin Megget, RB, Maryland
