Kyle Orton waived
Given Orton's success in McDaniels' spread offense, it might be worth looking at him. $7.4M in salary is steep for a backup QB, but it might be viable if he clears the waiver wire and we re-negotiate. And it wouldn't hurt to have a proven commodity just in case Fitzpatrick gets injured.

It would be a waste and reports are he wants to play somewhere as a starter. With alot of quarterbacks going down he saw an oppurtunity and reports are he asked to be cut. It would be 7.4 million to keep him from miami for the season.

If I'm the Colts, I'm releasing Painter ASAP
The guy can’t win games…something ALL QBs (starter or backup) need to be able to do.

If he lasts past KC, I see no reason he doesn’t end up back in Chi-town.

Orton will go to the Bears or Texans.....he is not going to the Bills to sit behind Fitz

exactly – we already have Orton – why do we need another one?

As the post said, so he could step in in case Fitz went down.

Don't want him.
But would put in a waiver claim just so we could get a 6th or 7th rd pick from the Bears or Texans if we got him off waivers.

Just remembered trade deadline passed so that won’t work.

I just knew this was a “bring him to the Bills post.” This signing wouldn’t get the Bills ANY further along in their development. I’m a Tebow fan, but Orton could not hold off Tebow. Is there any way you think he’s an improvement over Fitzpatrick right now?

The post did not say he’d be an improvement over Fitz. He specifically said he’s familiar with the spread offense and could step in if Fitz went down.
