I'm posting this to see what other Rumbler's think about a subject that has been on my mind. Desean Jackson is set to become an UFA after this season and is looking for a pay raise. He is one of those rare gamebreaker type players that can score from anywhere on the field but also comes with a lot of baggage as well. After missing a team meeting he was not allowed to dress for the game that week (coach's decision). Then this past week after making a few drops he was benched in the 3rd quarter for the rest of the game. It seems that he has fallen out of favor with head coach Andy Reid. However, despite Reid's decisons (to my knowledge at least) he has not once criticized Reid or the team for doing so. This makes me believe that even though he may be a distraction at times he is not a cancer.
It is obvious that the Bills have a dire need for not only a deep threat but a real #2 WR to play opposite Stevie Johnson (he better get resigned soon). Now Jackson could fill both needs, but is it worth the extra baggage that he comes with? Jackson has been on record saying that he doesn't want/expect Larry Fitzgerald type of money but he does want a pay raise (He is making less than $1 million a year). As we all know the Bills are well under the salary cap and have plenty of holes, so if he were to make it to free agency this could kill two birds with one stone.
After seeing some of the outburst after Steve Johnson's endzone celebration and subsequent personal foul flag I'm not so sure some Bills fans would be open to the idea of bringing in another WR who likes to show boat. However, his talent is undeniable and would be a great piece to add to this offense to help make it more exciting and put points up on the board.
So what do you think Rumblers? Should the Bills pursue Desean Jackson next year? Will the Bills pursue Jackson next year?
