Bills vs. Titans Talk On 'MCM Radio'
Last night, I dropped by the live online radio show of our sister site, Music City Miracles, to talk about the Buffalo Bills and this weekend's game against the Tennessee Titans.
If you're so inclined, you can listen to the show right here. Jimmy and company talked a lot about the Titans and their divisional foes in the first segment of the show; the Bills talk picks up just after the 20-minute mark. We ran the gamut of topics on the team, and I also gave a game prediction and discussed our blog's hatred for their blog's title.
The question from Jimmy that I found most interesting concerned Scott Chandler. Titans fans, apparently, are terrified of any opposing tight end with a pulse and a good set of hands. I did a quick numbers crunch after the show, and it turns out that in 11 games this year, the Titans have yielded 55 receptions, 689 yards and six touchdowns to tight ends. Chandler - who Jimmy tells me has 32 receptions on 34 targets this year - could be in line for a big day.

D'Alessandris
Chandler has demonstrated he can get open & catch the ball.
If he could get his run/pass blocking up to ‘average’, I think he’d be even a bigger plus to the offense.
Some personal time with D’Alessandris would be good.
Some persnal time with coaches isn't really a reccommended thing these days:)
Also, this isn’t the first time I have picked up on a comment like this regarding Chandler’s efforts toward run pass blocking. Saying his efforts are below average is IMO wrong. I would put them at average and improving. We have so many players on offense that have been put in a position for the first time in their carreers to perform on a weekly basis that we sometimes forget that the opponents field professional athletes that have some game to there resume’s as well. Chandler’s all around play has been a bright spot for this offense. Freddy Jackson’s stats can speak to this. The fact that he has been a mainstay in pass protection and run blocking during the whole offensive line shuffleing over the past six weeks has had some disruptions but if continuity is important for a line to jell and compete as a unit, than the tight end is surely a major part in this and playing with the same guys every week would have it’s advantages as well as playing with different guys each week would have it’s disadvantages. Still if the job wasn’t getting done he wouldn’t be out there. I am struggling to remember the last time Scott Chandler has played a sixteen game season in the NFL. We are so young it could be viewed as amazing what the offense has been able to pull off this year despite the W-L record.

A 20-17 Loss, even given how they performed this week?
And at home to boot? Really?
Ha – yes, really. Why is that far-fetched?

Call it the Oliver Stone in me Brian, but it seems every other team’s blog you’ve gone on we’ve been predicted to lose. Again, I’m fully admitting I’ve got the tinfoil hat on!
Goodness gracious, no. It’s been that way lately, but I’ve picked the Bills quite often this season.

Am I allowed to do a -1 for using the name of their blog on Buffalo Rumblings? I have joined all of the blogs of the teams the Bills play this season, except for one. Care to guess which one? From now on, I think it should be referred to as “the blog that shall not be named” :)
Thank you thank you thank you thank you sireric for bringing the furious punching cat back into my life. - poz

Kudos, Brian!
You did yourself and this blog proud.
Except for the part where you picked against the Bills. ;o). MUST you be so honest? Or are you going for journalistic integrity and honesty or some quaint notion like that?
And if so, kudos again!

Nice job Galliford
I’m usually wrong in the majority of my prognostications, but at the beginning of the year I posted on Rumblings that Chandler could get 40-50 catches and be our first truly productive TE in quite some time. I based that on nothing more than Chan acknowledging what defenses give him and Chandler being a nice big target who had demonstrated he could catch the ball. While it’s a nice bonus, you don’t have to be one of the 3 G-amigos to be an effective TE (Graham, Gronkowski or Gonzales)
