Creating Some Legitimate Optimism

Well, one more game before another Buffalo Bills season ends. We have had some great times, and some awful times, but it certainly has been an eventful year. This post will think ahead to next year, and list some reasons why 2012 should be a great year for the Bills.

1. The 2011 Draft Class Actually Panned Out

Outside of Johnny White and Micheal Jasper, every draft pick has played a role this season (and Jasper may very well next season). Dareus, Williams, Sheppard, Hairston, Searcy and Rogers are either starters, or have played capably in starting roles at some point this season. Chris White should be a solid special teamer. Its amazing what happens when drafted players contribute.

2. C.J Spiller Has Finally Emerged

Could it be that the Bills will wind up with back to back 1st round picks who turn out to be superb players? I really hope Gailey figures out a way to get both RB's 20 touches a game next year. It would take so much pressure off of Fitz and the defense.

3. Buffalo Wasn't Too Far Off From The Post-Season

If Buffalo managed to finish off the Bengals and Jets, and made one or two more plays against the Titans, we would be talking about who to rest up as to not injure anyone for our playoff game in Houston. Despite everything that happened, Buffalo is much closer to being a playoff team than not.

Yes, Buffalo has a lot of work to do, and the next draft needs to be just as fruitful as the last one, but a decent draft, and some better luck with health will go a long way. With a somewhat weaker schedule next year, we should be able to be competitive and get over that playoff hump for once.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
