No Bills in Pro Bowl
I understand Fitz not making it with the way he ended the year, but I don't think Rivers was any better.
And I thought Levitre had a legitimate argument.

George Wilson should be there.
Polamalu is there on name recognition alone. Wilson had a far better year and deserved that spot.

Fred Jackson
What I don’t understand is a player who is placed on injured reserve is
not eligible to be nominated to go to the Pro Bowl which is why Freddy
didn’t get the nomination, but that doesn’t explain why Andre Carter from
the Patriots made it? He was placed on IR a few weeks ago I believe…

There is a cutoff, Freddy was placed on IR before this cutoff, Andre Carter was not.

Yet again proving that the pro bowl is a joke.

Hmm
Rivers QBR was 86.6 vs Fitz’s 80.7. 12TH vs 18TH overall. Rivers was better. Levitre deserves pro bowl consideration based on what?
If you didn't like my last post wait till you read the next! :) Until we draft/acquire franchise QB we'll be setting records for losing soon!
For one he’s awesome, two he played three different positions on the line this year and didnt screw it up. Pretty impressive stuff!!

Levitre has been terrific this season. His name has come up often in Pro Bowl speculation.

I said I understood Fitz not making it. I don’t think Rivers was much better. I don’t watch many Chargers games, but Rivers was pretty bad in the ones I did watch, except for the Bills and Ravens games. If you’re just going by QBR, Matt Moore (and NFC guys like Alex Smith) had a better year than Rivers.
And Pro Football Focus (which pays more attention to OL play than I do, or probably most every one on this site) thinks Levitre (and Byrd) should have been in the Pro Bowl (they also reluctantly pick Rivers):

Levitre deserves pro bowl consideration based on what?
film?
If he was a Steeler he’d be in

Buffalo did not receive one Pro Bowl invitation, nor did anyone even remotely deserve one. This re-affirms what a disaster this roster is as currently constructed. As bad as the present is, the future is not much better. Unbelievably poor drafting, an imbalance in the quality of free agency departures and signings, and a proclivity to seek trades of veterans for draft picks has left the cupboard almost bare. The time has come to demand a better product from OBD.

this could show what a disaster this roster is. or it could, you know, show how the pro bowl is just as much about politics and popularity as any other subjective selection ever in the history of humanity.
do u really feel that eric weddle had an obviously better season than jairus byrd? or that brian waters was a better Olineman than andy levitre in 2011? or that fred jackson didnt deserve it had he not gotten injured?
i thought byrd, levitre, and wilson all had strong cases to make the probowl. wood and jackson would have if they had stayed healthy.
Its fun to think quarterback, but i think the odds of nix taking one in the first are close to 0%.

Hard to nominate a Bill
Levitre is the only person that comes to mind. The Bills continued to have a good rushing attack even when Freddy went down and for the most part the line gave Fitz decent protection even with all the injuries. Levitre was a rock and versatile enough to play 3 positions.
Steve Johnson has a very slim chance when players start pulling out.

Jairus Byrd, Marcel Dareus, George Wilson, Andy Levitre and Erik Pears all were worthy of consideration
