Bills vs. Chargers Injury Report: Scott Chandler Out

When the Buffalo Bills take on the San Diego Chargers this Sunday, they'll be without the services of break-out starting tight end Scott Chandler.

Chandler injured his ankle in the third quarter of last Sunday's loss to Tennessee while trying to pick up additional yardage after a catch. (He fumbled on that play.) The loss hurts a Buffalo offense that had just gotten some of its groove back, with Chandler playing a big part in that resurgence (nine receptions, 98 yards in the last two weeks).

Without the big-bodied tight end on the field, the Bills will use a combination of rookie Lee Smith, Mike Caussin and perhaps even new signee Fendi Onobun on Sunday.

In other news: rookie cornerback Aaron Williams is doubtful, meaning that Leodis McKelvin is in line for a start. Chad Rinehart missed practice on Friday, but is still expected to start at right guard; if he can't go, he'll be replaced by Colin Brown. Finally, the team's two starting safeties, Jairus Byrd and George Wilson, are both probable and expected to play - so there is some good news to report.

Expect Rivers to abuse McKelvin even worse than he victimized Youboty last week. I’m taking San Diego in a blowout win.

I wasn't sure I was going to like the white helmets but seeing them in the practice footage, I've got to say that I love the look.

nah...

I don’t think McKelvin will be the problem. That guy on the other side may have a couple of PI’s though. I won’t even type his name.

I remember being ripped apart for my hatred of his play last off season and yet I do not see many that would disagree with me now.

What’s the line on this game? I can’t imagine it’s under 10 points.

I think Chan is really high on Smith

and he is willing to work him slowly. I hope he can show us a little of what he can do this week!

I'll be there.

Got into San Diego last night, man, I love this city. Go Bills!

We should have kept Schouman

It would have been nice to have veteran depth

I cancelled everything

I bought tickets for this game 2 months ago. Now I cancelled my trip and I have 4 tickets in my hand, and don´t know what do with them.

Make a fanpost and give them to someone or doesn’t the nfl have the ticket exchange thing where you could try to sell them.

Waited too long. Could’ve just mailed them earlier to a high school or the San Diego Naval base in a card that said, “Please give these to someone who will appreciate it. Merry Christmas.”

Great idea Sarge.

Call the MWR (Morale, Welfare & Recreation) in San Diego 619-556-2174. It is tax deductible too.

so this team has go from the "Replacements" to the "Replacements of the Replacements"

This injury toll must be demoralising for the team. Fit, they were rolling with a real chance of playoff football. Now we are signing any heathy human out there who can catch or tackle.

Need my boy Fitz to have a monster game this Sunday. You can do it son!!

I have been around...

…but flat out with selling our house and moving to a new city. I haven’t missed a game yet. Wife got a new job, but it is in my home town of Cairns situated on the Barrier Reef and surrounded by rainforests. Sooo happy. Takes my mind off how this season has turned out.

So we're out of the "suck for luck" campaign...

Anyone else wanna hop on the “keep missin’ for griffin” train?

We have to have Luck this offseason, figuratively and literally. "With the 1st overall pick pick of the 2011 NFL draft the buffalo bills select Andrew Luck quarterback out of stanford" The first words out of goodalls mouth at the 11 draft. youtube "andrew luck tackle" the kid can teach our linebackers how to hit as a second job

Chandler was a fantastic pick-up by Nix.

It’s a damn shame we can’t count with him this week. but the hit he took against the Titans was huge. I couldn’t believe he got up and walked out the field by his own means.

Time for Smith and Coussins to step up.

Agree

Never expected that we would ever miss Chandler on the field. He’s been a very pleasant surprise. Hoping he gets back and get the Bills TE TD record this year.
