I thought it was JP Loseman ;-
For my own personal sanity, I am officially banning myself from reading/saying anything about Cam Newton.... starting the day after the Bowl game until the start of the combine.

CB's Fan Friday is a must read
lots of good info about what CB thinks might happen in the draft. He really seems to indicate that Kaep is a possible 2nd round pick for the Bills if he checks out in the interviews.

His opinion
also shed’s some light on what the Bills may think of Ryan Mallet. The forgotten son “Ryan Mallet” not as mobile as the other’s but still potentially motivated.

I like Mallet, but doesn't Gailey like mobile QBs?
Also, since there are some leadership/maturity questions about Mallet, Ralph might be worried about him being JP Jr. And remember the Spiller pick….the number one pick will be someone with high character. I found the Dareus vs Peterson answer especially interesting too. I would have taken Peterson over Dareus. Is it April yet?

Yes Gailey likes mobile QB's
But let’s not get confused. I don’t think he favors the QB that had a college career setting records for rushing touchdowns over a QB who is capable of getting out of his own way or extending plays or busting loose for that first down after a 3-4 second read in the pocket. At least in my opinion, there is a difference, Cam Newton, Tim TeBow Mike Vick are QB’s that change the offense to suit their skills, I believe Gailey wants a QB that can utilize his entire arsenal and that includes the QB.
I like Mallet and think much higher of him than most here, but he doesn’t fit the criteria that Gailey has a history of working with. Although, what we don’t know is how versitile Gailey is with the different prototypical QB’s. Also, I look at Fitzpatrick as a QB that is versatile enough to adjust to any type of offense that Gailey would like to run. What we seen last year was an offense suited for the entire offensive personell, not jus Ryan F. I think Mallet could work and would be a total steal in the third round.

Agreed....even if we took Gabbert in the 1st round, I would still take Mallett in the 3rd if he was still there
As far as Fitz goes, his mobility is one of his strengths so why not use it? It wouldn’t make much sense to have Fitz mentor a QB with a totally different style of play, especially when it is a style that isn’t Chan’s preferred style for his QB.

What I am hoping for is different from what we have.
I like the gunslinger style with legs to make things happen as a check down. I would prefer a more conventional style with better pass protections and more focus and effort on run blocking. I don’t want to throw the ball 35 times a game wheter it is Manning or Fitzpatrick. I am not sure that Gailey has scratched the surface yet in his offensive design and someone like Mallet may be perfect for Gailey long term.
