Will Denver switch back to a 4-3?
The odds are that Denver will switch back to John Fox's 4-3. Actually, their roster is probably already better suited for a 4-3. With the #2 pick in the draft they are positioned for Bowers, who coupled with Ayers could form a great set of DEs.
Elvis Dumerville is coming off an injury and could be the off man out. He would definitely be too small at 5'11" 248lbs to go back to DE and he might have more value to Denver as trade bait to a hungry 3-4 team like say Buffalo. Has anyone heard if Denver will be sticking with the 3-4 or going back to the 4-3? And if they are going back to the 4-3, how much do you think aquiring Elvis via trade would cost? Would he be worth a 2nd round pick?
Imagine, Peterson with our #3 then Locker with our 2nd round selection. Take Luke Stocker with our 3rd round pick.
Take Jarvis Jenkins with our 4th round selection and then trade our second 4th and next years 2nd for Dumerville
At this point, hopefully pickup Casey Mathews in the 5th round
I just wanted to throw this out there at let Rumblers discuss the possibility. Clearly Dumerville is designed to be a Rush OLB and if Denver reverts back to a 4-3 then Elvis might be available through a trade. The other issue is how much would other teams be willing to give for an outstanding OLB coming off of a somewhat serious injury, although muscle injuries tend to heal well. Let the discussion begin...
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

There is absolutely no way that Dumervil will be the odd man out in Denver. He played in a 4-3 his first three years in the league, and had a combined 25.5 sacks in those seasons. He is an elite pass rusher, and he’ll play end in Denver.
If anyone is the odd man out, it’s Ayers. And Bowers will be an option for them.

All indications are that they're switching to a 4-3
but Dumervil got a huge extension before last year and has played 4-3 DE with success in the past. That said, I think he’s a better fit as a 3-4 Rush Linebacker.
He might be “available” but it would probably take a 1st round pick to get him.

I can’t imagine him going higher than the 4th round, but i guess bloodlines could make someone take a flyer on him in the 3rd.He just didn’t do enough in college.

I would like to see what it would take to get Ayers.
There might be some DT depth to look at as well.
If Denver and Clevland both switch back to the 4-3 surely we can get some talent out of the two groups.

Locker
I hope someone other than Buffalo takes Locker in the first round
with 1-2 years behind Fitz, I think Chan can develop him
Rebuilding a team properly takes time and patience
Agreed
I would be estatic if we came away with Peterson at 3 and Locker in the 2nd….that being said if we could get Dumervil for that absolutely but I highly doubt they will trade him due to the great success he’s had before at end…..BUT this is a new coach with a new scheme and he may think that they are better off without him who knows.

It’s just hard for me to imagine John Fox keeping a 5’11" 248lbs DE. Dumerville is way more suited at OLB and he and everyone else knows it. It would not surprise me a bit that Dumerville gets shopped around. I’d even sweeten the pot by sending Kelsay with the above mentioned deal.

O absolutely
I would love it if the Bills got this guy our biggest problems were pass rush and horrible OLB play so to get a great one would be awesome. Like I said if Fox likes him and designs his defense around him then he’s going nowhere, but if there’s any concern they certainly may be asking around and all I can ask of the Bills is to at least inquire about it.
