Also Pete Prisco (Ultimate Power Rankings: Bring on the hate mail – NFL – CBSSports) lost all cred in his article by listing Tampa Bay ahead of the Bills in all-time franchise rankings.
Despite winning a SB, this franchise (TB) is one of the worst over its’ 35 year existence. 25 losing seasons, record 26 consecutive game losing streak, lifetime 215-341 W/L record. If they could go 14-2 every year for the next ten years they would still have a W/L record below .500. Took more than 30 years to ever score a TD on Special Teams. Plenty more.
Unless his rankings are very heavily skewed toward SB wins, this guy didn’t do his homework.

Surely, you must realize that Tampa’s win percentage (.398) isn’t that much worse than Buffalo’s (.464). That six percent difference equates to an average of one more win per year for the Bills. And yeah, that championship means a lot.

I’m not that offended by it.

That was me.

My main problem is that when people read articles such as this, they accept that the author did significant research to come to whatever conclusions are included. His decision to limit his rankings based on 45 years does an injustice to the article premise. Specifically the title is “all-time” power rankings. That cut out most of the AFL years, all of the AAFL, etc. If someone were to do a more accurate “all-time” rankings, the Steelers stunk for 40 years (roughly half their existence), Philadelphia & Cleveland had some great teams in 40s and 50s, early 60s Chargers and more. As rwinds3 mentioned above, 2 AFL Championships, another AFL Championship Game appearance etc would (I hope) change the rankings to better reflect a Bills (and others) franchise.

I did not want to turn this into a major debate. Just wanted to voice my displeasure over what I perceived as a poorly researched, unfairly limited article that cast the Bills in a manner that was not as favorable had the author used a more correct subject line or criteria that better fit what he was trying to convey.

To continue this text train, I think he totally got it wrong placing Minnesota anywhere above the Bills. I think they could be the worst franchise in the NFL.
