A short, short time ago...
I can still remember
How the NFL Season made me smile.
And I knew when I had a chance
I would fly into Buffalo to watch the Bills take a stance
And, sitting at The Ralph would be all worthwhile.
But March 11th made me shiver
With every paper that was delivered.
Bad news on the TV;
No NFL football in the future to see
I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about the Owners & Players with too much Pride!!
But something touched me deep inside
The day the National Football League died.
So bye-bye, to a working relationship team.
Drove my Chevy to the stadium,
But it only made me scream.
And those Lawyer boys were drinkin’ Martinis or rye
An We were Singin’, "We’ll never forget this day until we die.
We’ll never forget this day until we die
How could you not divide the 9 billion you were shown
When economy issues are so well known,
But you preceded anyway…
Do you believe in Hell below,
Can money save your mortal soul,
What your greed caused is beyond control
Well, we know the fans have a voice
They’re suffering by your greedy choice
Your decision has hurt both women and men
When you get back on the field an only then
Will the millions of fans have time to rejoice
So bye-bye, to a working relationship team.
Drove my Chevy to the stadium,
But it only made me scream.
And those Lawyer boys were drinkin’ Martinis or rye
An We were Singin’, "We’ll never forget this day until we die.
We’ll never forget this day until we die
