My Take on the 2011 QB Class

I want everyone who reads this to know it is the most important thing in football right now to have a "franchise" QB and if the team you like does not have that type of guy leading the team on and off the field then I think its time they start looking most likely in the draft. And if they are looking they had better look in the first round of the draft. Now i think that some Qb's are better off than others when they get out of college but i have seen "pro ready" guys like Clausen and Qunin fall flat on their face and spread qb's do fine and vice versa so i really belive that what matters most to any QB coming out is getting put in the right spot for them to succeed which might not be the same for everyone QB in the draft. I think that the pairing of Andy Reid and Donovan Mcnabb was a match made in football heaven and had it not been for him landing in Philleldphia Mcnabb wouldnt have had as good a career. Look at Brady in New England im not sure he would have had as much success anywhere else had he not been in New England form day one. Some players like Manning can succeed anywhere i guess but how many Peyton have there been in the history of the league and how many are available on a yearly basis in the draft.

Remember Rich Gannon and how when he was paired up with Jon Gruden magic happened because they were a perfect fit for each other. I thik that kind of chemistry as well as the make up of the QB in terms of work ethic because he has to be willing to know what everyone on the field is doing at any given moment, but getting back to the chemistry that will be the determining factor in what kind of success a Qb has if they are in fact drafted by buffalo in this years draft.

So now with all that said in preface to what i will say next i really think that Cam Newton can have success in Buffalo and i am one of those guys that hates a bust and will do whatever is safest to ensure that a bust does not happens in the first rd ever but if you dont have a QB who is head and shoulders above the talent level of other players on the field with a coach who will maximize his strengths then the playoffs may happen one or twic every ten years but not the kind of sustained success that it takes to get to the Super Bowl.

In my opinion the Jets made a huge mistake taking Mark Sanchez a guy who in my opinion will always need a amazing team around him to be good and who will never take over a game late and win it for you when it matters most like a Ben Roethlesberger ion the Super Bowl a couple years ago. Anyway im hoping that Cam Newton is everything i think he is because is he is a bust then probably wont see the Bills in the Playoffs for another ten years if they even still play in Buffalo by then.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
