BR Community Mock Draft V2

Starting after the Senior Bowl I’ve been charting the mock drafts posted on BR by us Bills fans to try to get an idea of where we as fans stand on who we would like the Bills to pick in this coming draft. I update a “mockers” picks each time they post a new version. I have disregarded drafts that include speculative trades. I’ve included only those mocks that have picks at the draft spots the Bills currently possess. I’ve also only included 7 round mocks in order to generate a 7 round mock reflective of the Buffalo Rumblings community desires. Players were awarded points based on the round they were mocked in; I’ve changed it since last time 7 points for the 1st round and 1 point for the 7th both 4th round picks get 4 points.  I then generated a mock based on point totals and whether or not a player was likely to be available based on round projections on Walter Football. For example Marcel Dareus got 42 points for being the 1st round choice in 6 mocks; however he won’t be available after the 1st round so he is eliminated from further consideration. I’ll continue to update as we get closer to the draft and post an update every 2 weeks leading up to the draft. Any way here is the 2nd version.

Rd. 1 Patrick Petersen                    CB LSU                  (7-1st round picks = 49 Points)

Rd. 2 Colin Kaepernick                   QB Nevada         (4-2nd, 3-3rd, 2-4th round = 47 Points)

Rd. 3 Kelvin Sheppard                    ILB LSU                 (1-2nd, 7-3rd round = 41 Points)

Rd. 4a Marcus Gilbert                     OT Florida            (4-4th, 1-7th round = 17 Points)

Rd. 4b Dontay Moch                       OLB Nevada       (1-2nd, 2-4th round = 14 Points

Rd. 5 Cedric Thornton                    DT S. Arkansas   (2-4th, 1-6th round = 10 Points)

Rd. 6 Eric Hagg                              SS Nebraska       (1-5th, 2-6th, 1-7th round = 8 Points)

Rd. 7 John Clay                              RB Wisconsin     (2-5th, 1-7th round = 7 Points)

Rd. 7b Mario Harvey                      ILB Marshall          (1-4th, 2-7th round = 6 Points)

ILB was again the most often selected position followed by CB, OT, QB/DT in that order, it is rather surprising that considering all the “we need a QB desperately” talk QB is tied for the 5th most selected position. Perhaps that is an indication that the QBs this year aren’t that spectacular or Petersen and others are inflating the value of their positions. Again like I stated with the first version these are not my picks so I won’t defend them. Many of you will be happy to see there aren’t 3 ILBs taken this time around. Just added Harvey for the compensatory pick.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of
