Buffalo Bills Have Met With Nevada TE Virgil Green

Stay connected for news and updates

While the Buffalo Bills have a scouting presence at Florida Atlantic's pro day checking out speedy tight end Rob Housler, we can confirm that the team met with another supremely athletic tight end prospect at the 2011 NFL Combine: Nevada's te Virgil Green. The meeting was confirmed by Green's agency, X-A-M Sports. Green is just one of 60 players (the league maximum allowed) that Buffalo met with in Indianapolis.

Green was sensational at the Combine, where he posted a 4.64-second 40-yard dash, a sensational 42.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10'10" broad jump. At 6'3" and 249 pounds, those numbers - particularly the jumping numbers - are spectacular. In his final three years at Nevada, Green - playing in the Wolfpack's famous "Pistol offense" - caught 67 passes for 849 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Green is currently Mike Mayock's fifth-rated tight end. Most of you will also likely recall that the Bills met with Green's college quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, at the Combine as well.
