Why the hell would we want Carson Palmer or Tyler Thigpen?!

Agreed!
As a Chiefs and Bills fan, I can say that Thigpen is crap. We use to call him Pigpen. Gailey did well with him, but that was to Gaileys credit, not Thigpens. The guy can scramble, but he can’t pass to save his life.
As far as Palmer goes, I’m not sure he fits what the team is trying to do. The team is trying to rebuild through the draft, not take older players who only have a few years left. I don’t see the Bills reaching for a veteran QB, they already have one. I think they’d rather have someone like Gabbert, who they can sit for a few years.
I like him as Buffalo’s backup while Fitz starts and a rookie learns.

Maybe
it is because we have no depth behind Fitzpatrick and the fact that anyone drafted is considered a project and never played against an NFL defense. That could be one hell of a reason to want Palmer or Thigpen. That doesn’t mean we wouldn’t draft another QB but it maybe a reason to not waste a season due to injury to our projected starter that has shown some resemblence to an NFL QB.

Well, Carson Palmer isn’t going to sit on the bench behind Fitzpatrick,…. and Tyler Thigpen?! C’Mon! He’s no better than Brian Brohm.

Tyler Thigpen
IMO he is better than Brian Brohm. We can agree to disagree on this. I view TT as a potential inexpensive back up to Ryan Fitzpatrick. I also view him as an experienced NFL back up QB that has worked with Gailey and should be able to pick things up quickly from Gailey. I also view Thigpen as an option for the Bills to get another QB whether it is Levi Brown or another FA or another drafted QB from this years class to come in and learn not only from Fitzpatrick but Thigpen as well. I most definately feel it is an option to consider, not one to discard. We are talking about tutoring some young QB for a year or two and it would be awesome if it turned out to be 3 – 5 years. Thigpen could be a back up stopgap until this all gets resolved.

One interesting note – although the Bills have the most $1 million players in the AFC East, they have the fewest $3 million players (tied with NE), and the fewest $4+ million players (none), while Miami and NY have 4 and 5. In fact, the Bills’ salary structure looks much more like NE than it does like Miami and the Jets. However, the massive contract of the #3 overall player will probably jump up to the top.
And who would you rather have – Mark Sanchez, or… Fred Jackson, Kyle Williams, Lindell, Moorman, Corner, Steve Johnson, Byron Scott, Parrish, Davis, Wilson, and McKelvin?
I’d rather have a soggy tunafish sandwich than Mark Sanchez.
