Reports: Buddy Nix Takes Cam Newton, Agents To Dinner

Two separate reports - one from Gil Brandt, the other from Al Fronczak - indicate that Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix took Auburn quarterback Cam Newton and his representatives out to dinner on Monday night, before Newton completed 50 of 60 passes at Auburn's pro day.

The Bills, for months, have been cited as a possible landing spot for Newton, who remains the most polarizing figure in the 2011 NFL Draft by a country mile. Newton is repeatedly linked to Chan Gailey; this reported dinner is certain to increase those opinions.

Newton is the talk of the town once again after showing marked improvement from his February 27 Combine workout to his March 8 pro day. In just ten days, aided by familiar receivers, a script, and more comfortable surroundings, Newton showed improved footwork and accuracy throwing the football. Despite the improvement, Newton still had accuracy issues - but rather than rehash everything here, we'll simply steer you in the direction of guys like Doug FarrarRob RangTony PaulineAdam Caplan and Tim Graham.

If you're one of the Bills fans that hoped that the Newton-to-Buffalo talk would end: welcome back to reality. You're going to be here at least until April 28, and potentially for a lot longer.
