Let's say we nab Von Miller with our pick at #3. Then, Cameron Jordan starts to slip a little further than expected. He is still on the board at pick 17. If you are OBD, would you start looking to package our 2nd and 3rd rounders to move back into the first round to get Jordan? With our 2nd and 3rd rounders, according to the value chart, we could get back up into the first round somewhere around pick #20. While we certainly can't afford to give up draft picks, I for one, would have no problem sacrificing our 3rd rounder (and possibly a later pick too) in order to move back up and acquire Jordan.
I know that it isn't super likely that Jordan will slide that far. But a lot of the mocks I've seen have him being selected in the 15-20 range. So it isn't completely out of the realm of possibility that he slides far enough for us to grab him. And I would be super excited if we came out of the first round with Von Miller AND Cameron Jordan. I think that would be worth sacrificing our 3rd rounder.
Ideally, we somehow are able to move down from #3 to #5 with Arizona grabbing Gabbert. Then we could still get Miller at #5 and if we'd have even more ammo to move up to get Jordan without losing our 3rd round pick. Can you imagine the impact to our defense adding Miller and Jordan?
