Rumors are that Shanahan wants Gabbert and is trying to trade up from #10 to #2 to get him.  If that rumor is true, it would likely cost Washington their 1st and 2nd rounders this year, plus their first rounder next year.  Again, IF that rumor is true, if I am Buddy Nix, I am calling Shanahan right now saying that we'd be more than happy to do that deal with Washington.  Tell him that we were going to take Gabbert (lie) but if they'll do a first/second this year, plus their first next year, then we'll pull the trigger.

I would be ecstatic if we could pull this deal off.  I think we could get Cam Jordan at #10, and I don't see him as too big of a dropoff in talent from Dareus at #3.  Jordan may even be a slightly better fit for our hybrid defense.  And to add a high second rounder this year, and a likely high 1st rounder next year would be a huge win for our organization.

Of course, I don't see Buddy making this trade, and I really don't see Washington making this trade either.  But...if this offer was on the table, would you pull the trigger?
