Rumblers Mock Central
I have a suspicion that many a final mock will be posted in the next twenty-four hours. I thought it might be a good idea to put them all under one roof. We all know the players pretty well by now, so I am not going to be posting any in depth analysis of players or links to scouting reports. This is basically for bragging rights and/or the eating of crow. Who I would draft if I were the Bills GM is after the jump. And if you think putting all final mocks together in one post is a good idea, please rec this so it stays on top.

would be a great pickup in the 7th!

Don't
think Sturdvant will be there

probably right, which is why I listed 3 at the same position
same with Cannon
Anyone but Cam Newton at #3. Preferably Peterson, Dareus, or Miller in that order…Unfortunately, we need all three.
If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.
This is probably the closet I've seen to how it will proabbly play out
I’ve done a million mocks. This is what will happen though position-wise. My preferences are different, but this is the best I’ve seen.
Was hoping to trade down and get an extra 2nd, but I think Washington is cooking something up with Denver. I would have thought they would be our trade partner. If Newton and Gabbert go we have less leverage obviously. Think we pick at 3.
I think Nix will pull the trigger on Dareus. Like Miller the most out of the DEF guys, but Dareus gives you more options. My preference on the same guys you listed would be
1 Dareus. The right pick though it kills me to not have Miller
2 Kaepernick (although I’m not excited about any of these guys)
3 Carpenter (Like Cannon, but I think he was diagnosed w/cancer – they’ll lay off)
4 Sheppard (Sturdivant and Jones will be gone)
4 A. Black / S Florida. Think he’ll hang in there a while
I think they’ll round out 5-7 with much of the same and try to get deeper on front 7. Think they’ll try to grab a deeper round DE as well. I heard there name in the same breath as a DE from South Carolina.

Thanks John.....I hadn't heard that about Cannon,
but I would be very happy with Carpenter. Not sure about Black…..isn’t he undersized?

Black
Undersized correct (that’s why he’d drop), but he makes big plays. He was in a big program and played top talent. If he drops, I think they’d kick the tires. Just guessing of course, but I think that the logic of positional drafting you had makes the most sense. It’ll be a safety there. Makes sense anyway.
I’d honestly prefer not drafting a QB if we don’t do it 1st round. Think there is a lot of pressure for them do draft a QB by Ralph though

We agree a lot Joe, but we’re definitely not on the same page about this draft.
On my big board for the Bills, Dareus isn’t even a top five player. What he does well, he’ll be elite at amongst NFL players. I just don’t think that run stuffing is important enough to take that high. Dareus better be a fairly impactful pass rusher if he’s going to be taken that high.
We disagree on Kaepernick, but I guess that’s the nature of drafting QBs.
I do like the idea of an OT in the 3rd like Carpenter. Watching the first run on OTs in the first and then the 2nd run on them in the 2nd-4th (whenever it happens) is going to be really interesting. If there’s one position where I’ll be crossing my fingers that nobody takes each pick, it’s OT. Guys could go real early, or they could be available pretty late. That said, I’d be happy for the Bills to only get solid value on an OT in the 3rd round (like Carpenter) if they’re potentially versatile players (like Carpenter).
I think Greg Jones is a very poor scheme fit. He’s more of a free space roamer that can crack heads in the open field than a guy who stands out in traffic.
I also can’t get behind a draft that has no pass rushers and no offensive playmakers (discouting QB, depending on the TE you draft). This is too much of an old school run and stop the run draft for me. I’d rather the Bills take a pass rusher like Miller in the first than a run stuffer like Dareus. Or a pass rusher over the 1st ILB. I think the Bills are in need of a receiving TE more than a blocker, especially since you can find backup TEs that specialize in blocking pretty much anywhere.

Good post
I wasn’t very high on Dareus to start with either. I thought he was just a better version of Williams. I have come around on him. I think he has much better speed and strength than I gave him credit for. And he is thick in the body, I think he will put on weight. He might not have ideal arm length to be a 3-4 DE, but I think he will be a very good DE. Also, he can play DT in the 4-3 looks we will run. Given we have Merriman and Maybin under contract along with Kelsay and Moats, I give the edge to Dareus over Miller. Peterson….I really can’t say why I didn’t put him first…it was that close.
Not sure I remember your thoughts on Kaep….for me, he is Newton without the warts. What don’t you like about him?
Pass rush in the 3-4 needs to come from the OLB for the most part. Troup and Dareus would help collapse the pocket and flush the QB to the OLBs. I really like Kaep and Julius Thomas…..they are raw but I see a huge upside with them. Can’t fill all the holes in one draft….we need to gamble somewhere.

Birddin's Draft
1) Peterson/Miller/Gabbert/Dareus
2) (Locker/Dalton/Kaep)/Rudolph/Ballard
3) Acho/Kendricks/Benjamin Ijalana
4) Ras-I Dowling/Mark Herzlich/James Brewer
4b)Casey Matthews/Marcus Cannon/Ricky Stanzi
And now to pick players who I like out of a hat (I should have just done that to start, I might get more right):
5) Rob Housler/Nate Irving/Zach Hurd
6) Owen Marecic/Greg McElroy/Joseph Barksdale
7) Ricardo Lockette(Oakland 4.32 40time)/Christian Anthony/Ugo Chinasa
7b) Cortez Allen/Chykie Brown/Chris Hairston

Ha! Watch Newton slide to 3 and the pick to be in 9 seconds later, all of Joe’s hopes and my trade scenarios shattered.
It can always get worse. Let me tell you how.
I know.....they wouldn't do that to us.....would they???????

Nice One, Joe -
OK, I’m definitely on board with your philosophy, if not your picks. Lot of front 7 help, a couple of OL guys to hopefully start on the right side, or provide depth. Left side is if Peterson goes at 3, right is if Miller goes at 3.
#3: Peterson/Miller
#34: Reed or Sheard/Ballard
#68: Casey/Sturdivant
#100: Matthews/Moffit
#122: Ziemba/Van Dyke
#133: Irving/Derek Hall
#169: Bair/Mohamed
#206: Harvey/Jordan Cameron
#244: Boren/Wujciak
