It's finally time. Everyone has an opinion on the #3 pick. I like Dareus, but whoever gets chosen, I will cast aside any doubts and I WILL BILLIEVE. I'm sure Nix and Gailey know more than me and have a plan.
If the pick is Newton or Gabbert,in a couple of years, we will have too many QBs, like Philly, and be able to keep one and get something good in trade for the other.
If the pick is Miller, we can finally put pressure on QBs and help out our secondary.
If the pick is Dareus, we are on our way to having a dominant DL allowing us to stop the run like the Steelers and Ravens. This will free up Poz in the middle and turn loose Moats and Merriman on the edges.
If the pick is Peterson, he really is a potential Deion Sanders.
If the pick is Green, we'll have a high octane offense that can put up points with anyone.
Also, whatever OBD does tonight, there's still more rounds and FA to fill the holes. FA should work in our favor since most of our key guys are signed. There will be a lot of players looking for work and the draft will keep some on the market when their teams draft replacements.
This is the time for optimism. There will be plenty of time to drive ourselves crazy over flaws in training camp and preseason. Right now, IT"S TIME TO BILLIEVE.
On a side note, if we don't get our QB in the first, keep an eye on Dalton's availability. Nix said Rivers was an easy choice because he was MVP in all his bowl games. The same is true with Dalton.
