Carolina linebacker's draft stock strong despite injury - Bills & NFL - The Buffalo News
"Carter is an athletic linebacker and special-teams demon who tore a knee ligament in December. He's not likely to be ready to play around the time training camps are scheduled to open, and teams will have to decide how that should affect his draft standing. Ballard, who measured 6-4 and 283 at the combine, is a good fit as a strong-side defensive end in a 3-4 scheme. He played at 295 during the season."

Jabaal Sheard
Me and my buddy were talking about him last night, and somewhat disagreed about his position in the NFL. He thought Sheard would make a good DE for our D, while I kind of think he’s too small if we want to continue playing 3-4. From what I’ve read he’s not great against the run, so this sort of gives me pause drafting a 260ish guy to set the edge.
On the other hand, we have Wannstedt on our staff, and I don’t think anyone (besides our staff… hopefully) has a great idea of what our fronts are going to look like this fall, and he does seem to be in the “hot horse” category.
Jabaal Sheard would be an OLB in Buffalo.

I find it hard to believe that Carter can have surgery to repair a knee ligament in December and is still a potential 2nd round pick, when he was, at best a late first round prospect.
And wow, how many prospects were on that NC defense?
That NC defense was absolutely loaded. Pity that all those suspensions came down.

Those suspensions robbed college football fans from watching a defense full of future NFL guys
Robert Quinn, Marvin Austin, Bruce Carter, Quan Sturdivant, Kendric Burney, Deunta Williams…..just incredible, the amount of talent that UNC may have had on the field last year if the suspensions didn’t happen.

It shows you how far medicine has come in the last 30 years where it’s not a career-threatening injury anymore.
You can't have CHANGE without CHAN.
