The long awaited unveiling finally took place at Ralph Wilson stadium. (Sidebar: I didn't see Ralph Wilson there in the streaming video. If he indeed wasn't there should we be concerned?) After getting to watch the Jills (always fun) and a live band (um, not as good as the Jills) we finally got an official look at the new uniforms. On the open thread for the event it seemed that some people weren't terribly impressed. Here are some observations about the new uniforms:
- The colored bands around the arm drew some criticism. With pads on the bands seemed to simply stop when they hit the chest. Some didn't care for the amount of material below the bands when the shirts were worn without the padding.
- It may have been an optical illusion but the numbers on the front of the jerseys appeared to be about 25% smaller than the numbers on the back. Some appeared to think that the numbers themselves where too thin while the outline was too thick.
- The blue pants/white jersey away uniform look that appeared in the video game snippet apparently was a ruse. The away uniforms were white on white while the home duds were blue on white.
- The Bills name is above the number on the front of the jersey and the charging Buffalo logo is above the number on the back.
Now that you've seem them, what do you think?
