Choosing a New Bills Jersey
I know a lot of you have already purchased a new jersey. Some of you are definitely planning to do so, as am I. My only dilemma is, who do I get? After buying some jerseys over the last few years, I've learned a few things that I will apply when making future purchases. I don't mind spending the money, but I'd like the guy who I'm wearing to be around for a few years before I need to buy a new one.
I've been burned by Willis McGahee (had a home and away jersey, luckily got rid of both on ebay right before the trade) and Marshawn Lynch. I will never buy a RB jersey again. Not just because of these two fools, but because most spend little time in their prime and they're easily replaceable.
I have a Lee Evans old home jersey and a white throwback (man I love those white throwbacks). Those purchases have been ok ones. But I got them right after he signed his extension.
A certain degree of thinking has to go into picking a jersey. So let's look at the options the Bills have given us:
First of all, if I'm getting a jersey, it's a blue home jersey. I like the whites, but when I go to a game once a year, I want to be wearing the home colors. Not only that, but I had some people in front of me last year wearing the whites at a game and the jerseys got destroyed by muddy feet from behind.
Here we go...
Stevie - He's everyone's favorite receiver, but will the Bills sign him to an extension? One would think so, especially if he repeats last season's performance. There's a chance that his jersey is mine.
Fitz - If I knew Fitz was going to be our QB of the future, I would have already made this purchase. However, we have no idea what to expect moving forward, as a mediocre season will result in the Bills probably drafting his successor in 2012. Too risky for me.
Fred - Fred is the man and he caused me to knock a beer out of a guy's hand last year in the Pittsburgh game on that 60 yard catch and run. But I'm not throwing $85 down on a 30 year old RB's jersey.
Spiller - I said I wouldn't buy another RB jersey. CJ could turn out to be the super-exciting game changer that we drafted him to be, but too much risk is involved here.
Byrd - If this were the beginning of the 2010 season, Byrd might be my jersey pick. I think he's a very nice player, but his jersey won't be mine.
Wood - I'm not going to get an o-lineman's jersey. Nothing against them. I just don't want one.
Evans - He's signed through 2012, but does he make it that long with us? Plus I still have the home throwback to wear (but not to games). Evans is out of the question.
Williams - I love me some Meatball. But if I'm going to get a d-lineman's jersey, I'll take a guy who is seven years younger, even if he hasn't played a down yet...
Dareus - Go back and watch this guy's press conference after the Bills selected him and tell me why you don't want his jersey.
So....
I have it down to Stevie and Dareus. Who do I go with?
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I think it’d be a mistake to discount Fred Jackson simply because of the position he plays. Freddie is one of the best Bills stories you’ll ever encounter in your lifetime, I promise you. Even if he’s only here another 1-2 years, his is a jersey I’ll always be proud to wear.

If longevity is a major sticking point for you, go with 99.
FJ or KW if you want the “lunchpail” player.
SJ for a bit of flair (and a dropped pass or two). Why so …
I do not know your personality style. Many people I know get the jersey of a player that has characteristics similar to him & that player.
When I get my jersey I am springing for the extra cost to personalize. I haven’t been cut yet, although I was escorted out of a bar once (I didn’t know she was dating the barkeep since he was hitting on other girls) back in 1979. I haven’t settled on a jersey number yet, but have it narrowed to a half dozen.
Don’t know if any of this helps. Good luck with your quest.

Put other
But not for that reason. Thinking Johnson jersey (new uni away) this year. Yes, I’m SURE we will re-sign him. Dareus (throwback) next year. I’ll wear the Dareus in Buffalo, and the Johnson away. Not sure when the Bills will travel to New Orleans of Houston next, anyone know? Also, they will still be selling the throw back, right? As for bar games (We rumblers watch the games at a bar called the Rendezvous here in NO, for those of you looking) I’ll change it up, once I have both, depending on who we’re playing victimizing ;)

Oh, by the way Buff for eternity
I’m a bartender, so just to give you a “heads up” That guy wasn’t hitting on other girls, he was “going above and beyond with his service standards” ;) AHA! Anyway, I wouldn’t have thrown you out. Probably just buy you a beer, tell you what’s up, and introduce you to one of the other chicks at the bar. Man, talk about jealous and un-cool. Especially in a Bills bar. If it makes you feel better, he’s probably bald and divorced by now ;)

My kind of job!
To answer your question in the upper post, based on the current scheduling format, Bills play Saints during 2013 season in the Superdome. Texans game next year 2012, site should be Houston. Both scenarios could change with new CBA rules or new scheduling format change.

Wow!
Two chances to get free beer!…..thrown at me ;( …..Go Bills! Actually, the Saints fans are (usually) good sports. Only went to Houston stadium for a for a concert (U2) . Everyone was cool (But that wasn’t football) . I would look forward to it, not only for the game, but the Texan’s stadium is Sweet!

Sold Out
Looks like the Bills Shop is already sold out of Dareus home jerseys
Follow me on Twitter: @rmensch53
go early 80's
seeing as the new jersey is just an updated version of the 1982 jersey…you can NEVER go wrong with picking a legendary Bills player. That player will never burn you in free agency and people only remember the good things about those players, never the bad games. So, go with a #55 Jim Haslett jersey…believe me, you’ll get plenty of “hey..nice jersey” at any game you attend.
What i'd love to find is
last years version of Fred Jackson at a discount price.. i didn’t really mind the home navy blues. then of course a new one of probably stevie
